Color of pots, does it matter??

can i use White plastic pots (paint pails). Will the light penatrate the pots (container) and damage the roots??

possibly.

i personally only use black.

i was advised to use black by my growing guru.

just use a black trash bag as a liner inside the bucket. as long as there are holes in the bottom for drainage, that should work out pretty good.

black blocks out more light to the roots than white. You can always wrap your painters bucket with a material to block out light, like duct tape

Spray paint the outsides black with some Krylon...

Yea I sprayed mine a dark green and beige, camo deal.

Light does not penetrate soil, if it did we would have to cover the top

Good point! And with a white bucket it would not absorb as much heat from the sun (forgot if this was for out doors)...
