Colloidal silver question

first time trying out making fem seeds. Specifically breeding two autos I have growing to supply me with some auto seeds for the future. Anyway, I’ve been spraying my plant since pre-flower and it’s been about 2.5 weeks spraying every day, actually twice a day the last week. I see no signs of balls forming anywhere. I know some strains are harder to turn than others but isn’t the norm 10-14 days? Never done this so curious what others have seen. The other female that I will be pollinating i started 3 weeks after the first one and is starting to pre flower now. I want to have pollen ready by next week if possible so I can pollinate early into flower. Any insight? I’m getting nervous it’s not gonna turn and I wasted my time and money. Thanks guys

Did you make or buy the CS? If you bought it it may not work. For the length of time you've been spraying you should see some male development. All I see is pistils. I use STS and always have balls after that much time. You're plant doesn't look like it reversed. You should have just male flowers not pistils.

i bought it. It’s supposedly 35ppm. Is it safe to say the plant is trash at this point? I don’t want to smoke it if I’ve been spraying it but I don’t wanna keep growing it if it’s not gonna turn either. Should I give it a few more days maybe?

I'd keep spraying until you run out of CS. You don't have anything to lose. You can't smoke that plant now.

I've never reversed an auto but it sounds like you started spraying right when the pre-flowers showed which is when to start so I think that the CS you bought is the problem. The STS method is more reliable and requires much less spraying for successful reversals. I would look into that method in the future. And not the pre-made products. It takes 5 minutes to mix a solution from silver nitrate and sodium thiosulfate. You can buy enough chemicals for under $50 to reverse hundreds of plants.

Here's one I just reversed recently. Sprayed 3 times with STS. Once the day it went into 12/12, again 3 or 4 days later and again after another few days. This is around 3 weeks from the first spray.

I’ll have to try that next time, thanks. I’ll keep spraying and see what happens for another week or so

Assuming you have the minimum concentration of CS required..It should work.
What I have noticed in the past, is that it can take a little longer with weaker light (the plant not growing as fast)...
I've had females I was turning put under a spare (weaker light) in another room and they're taken quite a bit longer.

Another observation, which make me question the strength of your CS...pistils will not form, or will die and those buds you are spraying with CS..your's have pistils from what I can see..

Last tip..Don't spray the whole plant with CS (if you have)..spray a few at the bottom..That way you dont spoil the whole plant to make pollen, it only takes a bit..That way you can get some additional bud from the top of the plant..or even self it with your pollen for more seeds

Cheers

its a small plant I dedicated for pollen production anyway so ya I’ve been spraying the whole thing. The whole plant has pure white healthy pistols which leads me to believe it’s not going to turn but we shall see.

Looks like a couple nanners. But that isn't reversed.

I've never reversed an auto but I think you either started too late or that purchased CS was crap. I'm leaning towards that CS was crap.

If you want to get serious about reversing plants then get silver nitrate and sodium thiosulfate. You can use CS as well but make your own. You don't know what you're getting with the stuff you buy.

Now I want to try and reverse an auto just for the heck of it. I still have a bunch of auto's I got as freebies. I'm going to plant another tomorrow and give it a go. I can make the pollen first and save it if it works out then plant another auto and pollinate it when ready.

I'm going to give first spray 3 weeks in and then every week until it changes.

so should I still trash it? are those sacs possibly a hermie condition or will they not produce viable pollen?

This is why I went with STS, lots of reports on popular ready made CS not been the ppm they are sold as.
I didn't want to be in this situation and STS is more precise and requires less overall work.

It doesn't help your current situation but here is a good tutorial

I've had good success with CS..
With photos spray CS ..I spray CS once a day for 7-10 days and let it do its magic
Auto's..I use the same spray regime daily..but as Xtsho says..start around 3 weeks..you want to try to get that before the hormones tell the plant to naturally switch

i started spraying this plant around 2.5-3 weeks old before it started flowering. It’s been over 3 weeks of spraying at this point
