I would say too low bud unless you cool the shit outa it

Gavitas dont really run hotter

But they put out such an intense light
That it heats the area up fast and can bleach your plants.

They are made for greenhouses with high ceilings.

Thats why i figured i could stretch one in my room its very intense.

But i dont have a light meter to validate
Ya my bulbs are 8’ (mounted) from the floor, I want to say my canopy is 4’ from the bulb. My room was cold the other night so I put them on 1150 just for heat and the plants showed a little heat stress even though canopy temp was 75. My room can be cold but concrete floor is always warm lol and the hoods are cool to the touch.

Four of my DE’s are made by grolite they are 8” air coolable hoods with glass that can be put over the bulb. Not sure about the air cooling function because I am using them open with no glass but my buddy runs one in a bedroom with fairly low ceilings and is cooling it with a 8” inline and it stays pretty cool. They nowhere near stack up to my phantom commercial DE’s, noticeably weaker.

Wonder how they compare to the gavitas?

Also these 4 clones (amnesia haze )

Where in my Root pruning experiments

And as soon as i stopped the growth exploded.:hump:

So since i just flipped im thinking
About throwing it into the room as it will over take my small veg area in no time .

You guys think i should clean it up and throw them in ?

I also thought about rotating them in in about 4 weeks so i can harvest it after this run semi perpetual.

What do you guys think ?20180222_194927.jpg

The phantoms are definitely in the same league as the gravitas but the grolite’s are nowhere near that imo. I will say though, THERE bulb i think is the problem, they are called “real red”.... no real info on the bulb on there site so idk, but that is what came with my kits. My phantoms came with AUVL (advanced UV lighting) horticulture bulbs and they are a noticeably different spectrum. I will throw up a unedited pic of my room and you can see the difference.

Man I have been interested in the LED’s for a while now and have just been teetering on the fence, just havent had the nudge yet. Thought it was a done deal when I saw the fluence spyder’s then I saw the price tag and my jaw hit the floor lol. I am going to grab four vepr’s soon though and run two between each set of DE’s.

Thank you very much, I have dreamt about this build for some time now, especially the low profile trays (or troughs as I call them).
I started a journal of it pretty much start to finish buildout but stupid me started in the indoor section, should have started it here maybe mods can move it over.

Ya I have everything at 1150w tonight and temps are still only 72 in the room, I really want to give some LED a go in the near future.

Drop in my thread sometime man if you would like...
