Coincidence or new LED technology trend?

Why are these LED grow lamps so similar? All designed as 15pcs LED per part, one driver runs two parts.
I am wondering if it is the same model or a new LED technology trend. Some says the Chinese LED grow lamps are shit products, but who tell me how many LED grow lamp sold on the market are not MADE IN CHINA please? Kessil, Solarstorm, Hans DIY panel?

if you ask me most computers are very similar, they have a casing, a motherboard, harddrive... they all look the same and use similar technology but there is still huge difference in the selection of inner components and performance. 99% of the shit you buy today comes from China ... they buy our wood and sell it back to us for 5 times the price at IKEA, smart peeps

Kessils are manufactured in Taiwan. california lightworks, lumigrow, and apache tech are manufactured in america. Plant photonics, hans', and the evos are made in europe. These are the ones I know of but maybe there are more out there

hand built in america is semi bullshit in my opinion, ... they are simply put together in america but all components come from China... its the reality

Im sure some of the parts are from other countries of origin, but it would be tough to deny that the overall quality of the designs and builds are better than most.

This "made in China" thing is a paradox, lesser quality anything is more relevant to modern times rather than geography guys. It's a little thing called planned obsolescence which has no boundaries. Blaming China is nothing more than western ignorance, if you really want to point the finger then do so at your own western governments and it's industrial supranationals for dismantling respective manufacturing bases, not China!!

By the way China is almost as bankrupt as the west so you better learn to make stuff again....

on their website it says all built in Michigan including the led/boards/frame......but I doubt the driver is built here.....check their twitter/face book pages, shows how they build them.....I really like the company but I need a heavy discount and they won't give it too me....tried/ha

I tried the Apollo 6 from Cidly, China.
I'm now using Hans Panels.

No point of comparisson whatsoever

For me, Chinese panels, are only a good option, if you buy them from the manufacturer at a fair price, and you get all the benefits of the longer lifespan, lower heat, easy to mount easy to use, the better light distribution etc. But in performance, they will at best, equal HPS. So, for the money they really cost in China, they are a good catch in my opinion... having a light that can do the same as your old HPS and give you all the benefits mentioned at a fair price, doesn't sound bad.

The thing is when you buy from a "manufacturer" that claims to have the shit of the shit, and charges 300% of the real price and in that case, i don't consider them to be a good option, no way!

Paying more, for quality leds, is in my opinion, worth it. As i told, i've tested both Chinese last generation and now testing Hans CREE XP-E panels. As i said above, no comparisson to make among these two.

For the money they really cost, Chinese panels, could be a nice option.

If you want higher performance and outperform HID, only way to do it is to go for high quality leds, such as Hans CREE XP-E, EVO Osram Oslon SSL80, Plant Photonics CREE and Lumileds, Apache Osram 3W leds, etc.

Almost all chinese panels.... Bridgelux and Epistar leds. Lower cost, Lower efficiency, Lower performance, YET! they can be considered worth it for their REAL! price, not the overpriced marketing bullshit many are selling.

Buying a panel from China might get a better price, but how do you know if you will be enjoyed their warranty. If the lamp gets broken, do they really cover the warranty? Especially to the LED lamps, normally will take some months to test. Who knows a new lamp is really good or not?
And by the way, a certain MADE IN CHINA product may be sold at a double price in the overseas market by some distributors, it is very reasonable.
For instance, an importer pays 200 dollars to buy a product from China. How much other outlays he has to pay? From shipping cost, import taxes(12-70% according to different country), daily overheads, marketing cost, employee salaries, local sales taxes(12-15%* sales price), and then to the second shipping cost from the local store to end consumers, after-sales service, warranty budget for potential problems....
So, if their profit is about 20-30%, I would rather paying some more dollars to support my local business than buying a product from overseas.

I think the similarities are dictated by a mix of the LED chips voltage and keeping the cost down.
Just a simple thing as electrolyte capacitors where a one '470uF 10 volts' cost .3 and a '470uF 60 volts' cost 1.2

And where is made !
ON EARTH

"they buy our wood and sell it back to us for 5 times the price at IKEA, smart peeps"

Yes wtf that use to be our way of life for the last 400 years or so :-)

Probably, but China has also been severely polluted by the manufacturing industry. It has sacrificed a lot.

im my opinion its basically once a new design like a bud booster comes out within a month other companies have coppied it but changed enough so they can get away with copyright and call it something like budbloomer

I can say for a fact, that when buying through CIDLY, only a fraction of the lights were available to be shipped to the USA. And I can also say that if you buy more then 5 lights from them, they can put your own branding on them. Which leads me to believe that companies across the world will buy their light design and have it individually licensed soley to them in their respective areas. I used to do this with synthetic pot on amazon back before they started outlawing all of the safer chemicals. Buy it in bulk, and brand it as my own. Most companies don't mind one bit. You still get the product through them, and they are touching markets they never would have touched on their own.

I hope he has been smoking and lurking in ROLLITUP, also always laughing at some of my silly questions...but he is just unwilling to answer me.
