Hi folks,

I got some seedlings sprouted straight in grodan cubes and placed in the smallest pots I have ever seen (after they came out of the humidity dome).

They have been growing OK, but pretty slowly under a 125w 6400k CFL. 5.8 PH water with rhizotonic , molasses (with flush) and canna aqua vega at the rates given to the cubes when they were in the humidity dome (E.C 0.6. seems strong but was insisted upon).

The question is, how often would somebody water these ? I was watering them from the bottom to get the ready for the ebb and flow . Then flush every 3rd water . Currently watering every second day because the coco on the surface looks wet. All I want to do is get them to develop some root surface so I can transplant them .

Thanks for any help!

p.s: yes 2 apparently stretched when germinating in the grodan cubes due to to little resistance on top of the seed. They are getting stronger by the day though and think they will survive.

Yeah I think every other day is probably correct. Flushing them because the tips of the leaves are starting to look burned and plants are curling down slightly after coming out of the humidity dome (I would leave them in there but many people suggest its a bad idea). Little bastard pots dont seem to dry out at all though which makes me not want to water them at all!

I guess it might just be the rapid change in environment (under dome @ 80%RH to 40%RH in tent) or over watering. I looked at the first 10 seconds of run-off from the water I flushed from the little pots today. The PH was virtually indifferent to the 5.8 PH being fed in. But the EC was about 0.8 which looked a little to high for these seedlings. I rinsed them with very mild amount of H2O2 which has been great with coco in the past to make sure the canna nutes were reduced to about 0.4EC

Thing that is bugging me is the grodan cube. It holds so much water so I dont want to water these things as often as I probably should be.

you shouldnt have to flush them................just feed at a dose they can take.....i feed mine 5ml of hesi per 1 litre by the time they are 2 weeks with no probs and dont flush til end of grow, i hear its bad to run water only through coco.......

I have heard differently. I have heard the 3rd feed should be water only. This has been fine as well for most grows I have had with coco.

I have also grown without ever flushing (bottom feed) . Hence the questioning! So much contradictory information on the web !

Regardless, the next watering will be with light feeding. Thanks fro your assistance
