Coco Growers Unite!

ill do my best. i lost my job back in may and the savings are starting to dwindle a bit.

I do fine with a $7 drop ph tester.
All my ph testers died.

Piss yellow (no orange at all, no green at all) is 5.8 with my GH tester.
At about week three of flowering I have it go up to about 6.0, yellow with a tint suggesting green.

I paid 100+ for a PH Pen. It lasted 4 months. I even wasted another 50 on a replacement probe. Didn't fix it. Luckily I got a bottle of those drops with some ph up/dn I bought. The drops work fine, IMO.

i kind of agree, i have had no issues with them but i rarely check the ph anyhow. im a lazy gardener. plus ive figured that im using the same water source throughout the grow and once im mixing the nutes full strength the ph should be the same throughout the grow. in theory lol

You'll never convince people to grow in coco if you don't ever have any prOn!

I don't care if people grow in coco. When my hydro store ran out of coco, I wished that less people would use it.
I only check my ph when I change my nute ratio. R/O water ftw.

I haven't checked pH for the last 4 coco grows....but I use the same RO water source (@8 ppm).....I got it dialed in and keep things the same.

I think he was joking -- he said his hydro store ran out one time. I order it from Amazon, myself.

Does coco really need extra cal-mag? If so, how much? Like, would I just put a regular dose in the WATERs portion of the FEED, WATER, WATER program?
I'm sorry if someone already asked this... 344 pages of posts is alot to read!

Yes it does. I use 1 tsp / gallon every watering. I also feed every watering.

Just use Veg+Bloom and it has your Silica and your Cal Mag in it already. My Coco loves it.

It depends on your nutes. I use GH and RO water and add about 7 ml per gallon.
RO water for sure, tap maybe not.

I use tap water (let it sit for a couple days to let the chlorine evap) and I've haven't had to use any Calmag. I feed every time too, never just water. I use Canna's Coco A+B, rhizo, cannazym, pk, then Biotanicare Sweet and H&G Bud XL.

Until I see some prOn I will believe that all plants in coco immediately die.

Most municipal water companies use Chloramine now. That will not evaporate. You can find out if your water company uses it. If so, you do not need to let your water sit unless you want it to be room temp.

You can get a chlorine filter, but results vary.
RO filters are cheap.

You're right, they are using Chloramine (Chlorine & Ammonia) and it takes weeks to evaporate. The good news is I've been using my tap water and I haven't had any issues (at least I don't have to let it sit out anymore and plan 2 days ahead for watering). Thanks for the heads up!

Hi guys, I've got a big problem due to a faulty ph pen and I was watering my plants with solution at ph 4.8. young leaves started to turn yellow.Since then I bought a new ph pen, and I have been watering with solution ph 5.8. after 3 days i do not see any improvement. should i flush the plant or they will recover if I keep watering with solution at ph 5.8.


Growing in 100% canna coco
watering at EC 1.4 every 2days
600w hps light at about 20" from top of plants.
strain blue cheese
1 week since light is on 12/12
