Coco/DTW reservoir maintenance

So there is a 30 gal reservoir running the flower tent. 5 gal smart pots each get about .75 gal/day. This lasts about a week before the water level gets too low to pump. Only using water/ph down in the res and everything seems to be doing well.

Question is - what kind of maintenance does a simple water rez with no mutes need? Does it need to be cleaned weekly, bi weekly, monthly? Again this is a dtw system. What are you guys doing?

I don’t think I’ve ever cleaned mine! Now you got me thinking. Mine usually drys out every 3-4 days as I dump it out between fillings and let it sit for a day or two empty before I refill.

I don't clean mine either. Your growing in coco it doesn't have to be sterile. :D
I use to use mycorrhizae in my reservoirs, but i have stopped doing this and noticed no difference in the crud that collects on the hoses in the rez.
I say as long as you are keeping the temps right, aerating the solution and don't notice any strange ph swings, then you should be fine.

What if the reservoir is sealed/air tight (which it is), would you still recommend weekly?
I've never seen a totally air-tight reservoir. Ultimately you'll have to make that determination as none of us are there to see what's happening in with the rez .
