COB Distance from seedlings...?

Hi guys,
Ive just popped some seeds, they've sprouted from the soil and im unsure about how far my light should be from my baby girls. The light is a diy job with 4 x Cree 2530s, rather low output compared to the other larger cobs people are using.
It seems like 12 - 18 inches from the plant is normal but the other problem is that every goddamn seed i have ever popped has stretched like crazy, and it seems the most common cause of this is lights being too far away.
And thats the dilema, how do i get the lights close enough to avoid stretching, yet far away enough to avoid heat burn?
I would say these smaller cobs are only being driven at 200mA and really dont seem to be putting out too much heat...can i get away with 4 - 6 inches?
Thanks in advance :)

You should be ok really close. That's not much light and very little heat with zero IR or near as damn it.
Is this light just for seedlings? What's the power output out of interest?

I had my citizen clu058s pumping it out and had them 6" above buds for a few week without burning or bleaching.

Great, cheers thats good to know. Yeah I plan to use it for the whole cycle. At 350mA its about 12.25w per cob. Its an ultra micro grow in a small cab 30 x 30 100cm...

Wow that sure is micro.
Sounds Awesome, hope you make a journal or thread so we can all see.
