Been researching alot on the CXB3590 leds specifically, I am new to growing and havent had a real success yet but am trying to buy the right parts. I am very interested in the Timber grow lights setup, it is prewired with drivers etc, 5 3590 LEDS, 250w from the wall.

I plan on using it in a 2x4x5' tall tent, as of right now this tent is only for flowerring, I have a dedicated vbox run off CFL's. Is there a great choice for color temp for the 3590 LED's? The option are 3000 3500 4000

I see alot of LED grow lights with colors and such, just dont want to pull the trigger on a $500 purchase and not get the ideal light. I have no problem assembling a frame for the timber kit, seems like a very good kit for the money.

Thanks for any advice, I couldnt find any much information on color temp of thhe CXB3590, mostly just setup and technical math on driving them which is a little above my knowledge point for now

3500K for bloom should work fine. get it an you will not regret it. you can always add to the light additional Far Red leds and Deep red and IR leds too. peace

I still think 27k or 3k is your best bet for flowering. 35k is used so people can pull off full cycle. I'm not a fan. But 35k w/ added reds would be killer for flower. Probably the best. I like enhanced white for my plants personally.
Good luck!

Run with the 3000k or 2700k if available. More red the better.

With 5 cobs, you could hang 3 above and 2 off the wall for side lighting. You probably won't need lenses or reflectors going that route. Strive for good uniformity of light available to the entire plant as much as possible. ~400umoles to the whole plant will give better results than 800+ to only the tops.

I was trying to decide on a good mix myself.
I'm doing a 16 COB light @ 1050ma so here's the mix I arrived at
based loosely off of growmau5 canopy 2:

4x 3000K (25%)
8x 3500K (50%)
2x 5000K (12.5%)
2x 6500K (12.5%)
15x mono 660nm
15x mono 430nm
7x mono 730nm (far red after lights out 15min)

Thoughts?
This may change after I read the Greengenes707 thread @PerroVerde - didn't you run a mix of different COBs and monos in your run?
