What's up guys. Normally pick up fox farm ocean Forrest at my local garden center but they didn't have any and started carrying some new lines of stuff.

Picked up some "Coast of Maine" soil which is peat based. Has anyone grown in this soil before ? Any big difference from fox farm?

Just got everything setup after last harvest. Starting a new run of x2 Dark Devil autos and x1 Dosidos Auto.

Just doing these autos to have something while I veg a mother from some Black Farm Genetix photo fems I have. Going to clone the shit out of a Orange Octane mama while flowering these fun colorful autos

Far
Never used it, but I have heard the brand name before. Does it give a guaranteed minimum analysis on the back?
Looks a little light on the perlite, especially for a blend with compost.

That's what I thought too it seemed a bit dense.

No analysis on the back just ingredients.
Peat, compost, perlite, poultry manure, lobster and kelp meal

Be careful with your watering. I used that stuff for years outdoors with annuals every summer. It's great stuff and you should be fine, but Jimbo nailed it, throw in some extra perlite. That mix holds water.

its another blend coast of Maine makes
more geared to cannabis our shop stocks them side by side with ocean forest on pallets. I've noticed the Stonington blend disappears faster

silver grey blue bag

Thanks for the info I'll check that out next time. They had such a limited supply since the garden section is overtaken by Christmas

That's good to hear you have had experience with it. I'll take your advice on watching how wet the soil gets and add some extra perlite.

I used it for years. It will usually get you all the way through stretch with just water. People already touched on the pearlite. Now the bad news, this stuff is usually infested with gnats. I would do a preemptive strike and burry a mosquito dunk in each container.......

I thought the soil was to moist out the bag!

Doing this!!! Also treating the top soil with omri listed insecticide soap. Good idea?

Yup, sound good. Never hurts to put up sticky cards too.

I used to wait till I noticed them and my sticky cards would have hundreds(maybe thousands) of victims on it by harvest.
Now I always pretreat any soil grow and there might only be a few dozen on the cards by harvest.
