Well the way i see it is it's none of their business what it is for. They should just be worried about making their sales. I'd tell them that if I were you.

Yea they shouldn't be asking what's it for unless it's for pure conversation. Just say you are on an errand for a friend is all if you want to be nice about it.

Tell them its for your MIG welder (you might want to read up a bit in case they ask you further questions).
Or tell them you like to play Paint Ball & its for recharging your gun reservoirs.

Yea I'd go with the paintball one. My buddy has a full CO2 tank he uses to fill the little tanks because he plays every weekend.

They shouldn't ask in the first place... but say you play a lot of paintball! Its not like they are gonna go to your address and see what you are doing with it?

Don't say it's for paintball unless you want to spray liquid co2 around your grow area. A tank for paintball refilling has a tube inside of it to bring the liquid to the smaller bottles. I used to play alot and made quite a profit filling tanks so know this for fact. This is probably why they asked, to be sure to get you the right bottle.

I brew beer and i force carb the 5gallon kegs with my 20lbs co bottle.
One bottle can keep 4 5gallon kegs pressurized for a good while as well ;)

Nobody welds with straight CO2. Paintball sounds like a good idea.

say Welding or glass blowing. both use co2 and propane. Most places that sell co2, don't sell propane. then glass blowing also uses atmospheric tanks which have to be filled at 3rd place.
