here is my co2 pump is just 2-2liter soda bottles yeast and sugar method but I use a small air pump to pump the co2.

air pump > split line going to 2-2 liter bottles > 2 lines from bottles feed 1-20oz bottle (for overflow protection) and 1 feed line going into my box with a few 100 holes in it..

Is it beneficial (does it help) to add the air pump into this type of system?

well my space is small 5' x 2' so with using a air pump I can place the bottles outside my box and push the CO2 into my box without taking up any space inside. plus I never have to shake up my bottles the air pump does it for me..

How high or long could you run the tubing? As CO2 sinks (heavier than air) it would be beneficial to pipe the bottle higher to drop the CO2 down.

Nice idea

do you have a diagram of how the whole thing works>? or some more pics.

do you know how much ppm that makes?

We used it all the time in the planted aquarium

It looks like there's 2 generators and a bubble counter

Air pump goes into the 2 generators, which pushes out co2 into the bubble counter, which counts how many bpm it produces
The air pump really isn't necessary because as it ferments, the pressure of the co2 itself will push it out itself

If you're talking about how the generator works, basically you mix 2 cups of sugar and i believe a teaspoon of yeast and it ferments and makes co2, some people add baking soda too, which has something to do with keeping it not too acidic so the yeast doesn't die. Don't quote me on the exact measurements of sugar and yeast though

edit: could anyone explain to me though why adding co2 is necessary? We do it in fish tanks because the co2 in the water is much much less then the co2 in the air, it would make more sense to just have air circulation in the room then to provide co2
