Co2 hand held

After doing some research on Co2 i'm going to use this on current grow. 24oz paintball tank with paintball remote/refill adapter, regulator, and air tip. I'll do a D.I.Y. thread if this goes well.

Co2 is 8.75cf per pound, 24oz is 1.5lbs so about 13cf of Co2 and you can find numerous equations for required cubic feet of Co2 to increase ppm. Im gonna just dose the seedlings after lights on but before vent fan on.
Co2 is heavier than air i can just wrap the pot with paper to create a barrier well, shoot the Co2 in with very small quantities, and see how it goes.
Then when the plants are bigger i can just shoot right into the canopy. Few times a day if i want.

NOTE: these are extremely high pressure tanks, approx 1800psi. or higher so DO NOT attempt this willy nilly if you have no shop/air compressor experience.

Wasting your time and money dude. Seedlings don't need extra CO2. More than enough in the air.

I use an alcohol lamp burning methyl hydrate for the stretch or when my exhaust fan isn't coming on because it's not getting warm or humid enough in the grow room to turn on the exhaust fan and there's lots of plants depleting the CO2.

Might as well just fart on your plants a few times a day. It would be easier and do the same thing. You could probably develop a diet that would increase the Co2 levels in your farts.

Chemical Composition of Farts
The exact chemical composition of human flatulence varies from one person to another, based on his or her biochemistry, the bacteria inhabiting the colon, and the foods that were eaten. If the gas results from ingesting air, the chemical composition will approximate that of air. If the fart arises from digestion or bacterial production, the chemistry may be more exotic. Farts consist primarily of nitrogen, the principal gas in air, along with a significant amount of carbon dioxide. A typical breakdown of the chemical composition of farts is:

  • Nitrogen: 20-90%
  • Hydrogen: 0-50% (flammable)
  • Carbon dioxide: 10-30%
  • Oxygen: 0-10%
  • Methane: 0-10% (flammable)

or just literally breathe on them for a few minutes lol

I can confirm an increase in yields of 20% when I trialled a 100% onion and beans diet.

Well im certainly happy i contributed to this site /s

Was gonna share more about a ball valve system for a 4x4 grow tent using this and a digital garden hose timer but i see you have more assholes than i wish to deal with

Tents and Co2 are not the best buds. Hose timers break from the hit of pressure when turning on and off. Stick around and learn or stay in your own little world and think you know it all. I was originally being nice by saying "do some more research"

The only way to run Co2 is with the proper equipment in a sealed room. Not an air blow gun hooked to a paintball gun air tank that you go around manually spraying a few times a day.

But hey we were just having fun. Lighten up.

But I do stand by my farting in the tent comment. :bigjoint:

If you seal the tent with some bag plastic and pressure test it, you could fill it from the bottom and displace all the air in the tent for pure CO2. If you had a hand held tester you could measure how much needs to be added each day. Have it hanging from the tent roof.

Have you considered a slow and steady continual flow or a periodic burst method?
