CO2 bubbles how much?

I have a home made co2 set up with 2) 2 litr bottles and 1 gatoraide bottle. Suger and yeast. The system was completed Friday night. I see about 1 bubble in the gatoraide bottle every 1 or 2 seconds. Is that right? Should I see more? If so how much? Should the bubbles be continuous stream like a bubbler would produce in a fish tank or does my amount sound about right?

I always get a ton of bubbles. the bubbles almost always want to come out of the bottles after like 5 minutes. Did you use cold water. If so thats a no no. use really warm water. and make sure your yeast is ACTIVE. PEaceOUt

I used luke warm water, 2 cups of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of bakers yeast. Shook the bottles like crazy for 5 minutes and this is what I am getting. Maybe it's releasing out of the holes on the bottles. I drilled them pretty small and the tube was hard as hell to get through so I thought it would have sealed it. But maybe not. I'll seal it today Thanks.

dude, I used 3 packets of 'active dry yeast' and 4 cups sugar. I think you may need more yeast. use hottest water possible (kickstarts yeast culture). Mine looks like ocean foam all over the entire top, I use a cut-off coke bottle and just stir it now and then to liven things up in it. mine lasts for about 3-4 weeks with minor additions put in occasionally.

Faralos. 3 packets? All the mixes I'm reading are saying 1/2 teaspoon to 2 cups of sugar. Dam man I just remade this batch tonight. Now I have to go drop more yeast in the bottle lol. Oh well live and learn.

Craziest thing I was just wondering about this today. K so lets say I got 2 2l bottles all filled up with yeast, sugar and water. Now question is how many times a day should I take off the lid and let co2 out?

You can make a system like this that will allow you to release all day long. I shake 3 times per day. But I'm working on a DIY automated system that I can turn on with a timer. Right now the only thing floating in my head over it, is to use a orbital sander attached to the bottom of the bottles. Another one I am working on is with a small drill and see saw type of thing that would run all day with a slow rocking motion.

Keep in mind that little botle has a 2nd small hose in the top. I currently have that hose ran up over my plants about 1 or 2 feet over them. The hose is then spidered off with other smaller hoses that rest just around leaf level of the plants.

when I say cutoff top of coke bottle you cut about 1/3 off i don't use hoses or an extra bottle or anything Gnomish (look it up!) just 1 bottle per solution I have 3 bottles scattered amongst my plants. it works, nothing fancy, but it gets the job done. I'm not into looks as long as the damn thing works.

If you wanna do this method you can make it better with a 5 gallon bucket with a lid. Add your water , sugar and then a piece of toast floating in it with the yeast ontop. As the water soaks the toast the yeast gets warm and wet and they yeast will feed on the bread and suage water making it produce even more. Use a a hose in a hole in the bucket lid and a small air pump to pump the air out and you made the same thing as the co2 boost buckets

in the USA we can buy (don't knowe if it's worldwide) ( I think 'Spencers Gifts' may carry it, don't quote me) a tabletop blue liquid-filled wave thing, this machine uses a rocking motion continuously. would that work for a rocking device? they run about $10.

how does this work?!?!...i tryed to find it in grow faq but couldn't...i found an old co2 tank a few weeks ago...i blasted the whole thing into my room..few hours later the plants looked really perkey and happy!...how do i make this co2 bottle?...ur just mixing yeast sugar and water?!? and it bubble or somthing?!?

Dude you are me think too much alike. I hit up the spencer this morning as that light thing was on my mind just for this purpose. lol. IT's called a tidal wave machine. Problem is it wont work with the 2 litr. There too heavy. I took my hand I placed some light pressure on the thing in the store and it just stopped, then started clicking lol. I thought I broke it so I walked away. But yeah thats just what I was thinking.

I have heard it works well. This is my first grow so Ic can't compare it to anything. If I had my choice I would go full on with a co2 system. But that will come after I success this grow. I tube mine and hang it up over my plants. a few inches. You can tell the co2 is comming out of the hoses, by placing a match right next to the exit hole on the hose. If it goes out your good to go. If it just blows or flickers, then you might have some problems. Fire needs OXY to stay aflame. So if it goes out you have a decent supply comming out of the hole. No oxy, no flame, all is good.

use a soldering gun or knife to cut a hole in top of the lid. it will slowly release the gas all day . just shake the bottle everytime you open the area where the bottles at when you look/water em

But to be honest you have to maintain a 1500 co2 ppm with temps of 80 degrees to see the benfits that co2 really does. Less then that and you might see some growth difference but wont get the 30-80% yield increases you do with correct co2 usage. You also have to cycle time your setup so that your intake an out take vents close during co2 times and then only vent and refresh the room every 2 hours for about 5 minutes then a new dose of co2 should be introduced back up to 1500 ppm and repaet whenever lights are on.These bottle will sort of work but in very very small areas maybe 2x2x4 feet max and you have to use sevearl bottles and refill every few days to get full output

OK then I'm going to need to beef up things here. I shut my fans off for two hours 2 times per day to help with the co2. But from what you are saying then I am going to need to put more bottles or try that 5 gallon trick mentioned here. My room is 4ft x 7 1/2 ft. Like I said I will go with a full blown on system but not till I success this grow. Man this little experiment/hobby, is going to drive me crazy lol.

Dude thats the fuckin truth ever since I started this "hobby" I've lost sleep trying to think of better grow ways how to increase the heat and so on it's ridiculous but its so god damn entertaining
