I would run electric to it and cut a hole in that door for venting, it looks like a nice solid wood door so its easy to patch and paint over. take the metal rod out and save it for when your crop needs to dry then put it back in and dry in the same room if it was me. I built my hood to fit the space my closet is and currently use cfls to keep temps down and since im a noob I thought it was cheaper, keyword is thought...... Im a welder so my next hood will be out of stainless if I go with hps but really thinking about going to LED's less heat they are kinda expensive but in the long run it will be cheaper. They are safer and much more efficient from what I see. Check out Adjorr's Thread https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/720830-600w-chinese-led-power.html he is doing some WW and they look good as hell. He also updates frequently for us :) Nopoint in investing in a roll of mylar unless your gonna do the whole room, I would just place some white plastic down on the floor, if you have more then 1 plant in there the mylar would be a waste of money as the plants will quickly block the light from really reaching down to the floor then bouncing back up on the plants. If your walls are flat white your good :) that will do just fine. What kind of lights where you looking into getting? 2-3 plants will fit decent in there. Are you going to grow from seed, clones, bagseed? Sativa, Indica Hybrids, autos? I know im asking alot :)

hey bro, thanks for replying, that door is solid, like 3 inches thick old school solid, I live in an apt next to the super, may not work. I also heard that 250 watt fluorescents save energy, I was thinking about using the bar to hang the chain for the light fixture, probably something 3ft or 4 ft long. If that costs too much electricity then I could try led, but do I need to change the hue with the led? or will the veg and flower stage use the same lights? also, if I only do 2-3 plants, think the odor will be too much? not sure on the type yet since I still have to get seeds, doing the "if you build it they will come" kinda thing.
Wouldnt know where to put fan with carbon filter, room temp is normally around 65-75 even during the winter, and could always insulate the closet door more with a heavy blanket

I would go cfl's or led for sure. I live in a 1300 square foot place and 1 plant stinks my place up fore sure. Your gonna need a carbon filter. Do you have a spare room? You could build a box in a different room or even your closet. When the smell comes your gonna get paranoid trust me. Ill never grow again indoors until i get my carbon filter.

even if you had a carbon filter and fan for it setup without ducting it would help a lot with the smell and air movement. Having it setup with ducting would work better of course but that might not be an option for you. If you had a tent for your closet you could have a filter and fan setup to exhaust out the top of the tent. I have a tent in my closet and I exhaust out the side of the tent since I have some clearance there, openings on the bottom of the tent allow for air intake and I leave the closet slightly open. I use leds which do not take much to cool so this works well for me. something like this could work for your setup possibly

I see what you mean, being that my space isn't that big, would a grow tent hinder my ability to produce? Those are the LEDs that u bought from China? How many of those would I need for a 2-3 plant grow? So u were able to put extractor fan thru side of tent and use the inside rack of tent for light hang? Also, u insulate the bottom or the top of the tent to prevent leakage?

if anything a tent improves your ability to produce by providing a sealed environment where you can control everything. For 2-3 plants in that space a 240w or better panel would be my recommendation, look for units with 3w bulbs or better and a 6 band or more flowering spectrum. The flowering spectrum lights work much better in veg then veg lights do in flower so its what most people use. I was thinking you could have your fan/filter setup verticaly in your tent and exhaust out through the top, most tents come with strong hangers for lights and fans etc.
My lights and fan all hang from the same hanging polls inside the tent, the output of the fan is ductaping into a 6" duct hole but its only a 4" fan which is why I duct taped the hell out of it to make it air tight lol ::eyesmoke:. I don't insulate the bottom of my tent I leave one of the flaps open and the closet door open a bit and this gives me enough air flow to stay at a comfortable temperature. For light leaks during flower it is no problem to shut the closet door all the way at lights out and open it back up in the morning, it dosent over heat.
Im not sure if there is a tent that will fit your space, there probably is. The other option would be to cut holes in your walls to have ducting and intake so you could have the fan and filter in the closet without a tent.
Even just having a fan and filter setup in the space with no ducting will filter the air enough to eliminate most of the smell, its not ideal but its better then nothing.

Yeah, the heat and odor would seem to be the only thing stopping me, the flowering spectrum lights are an all in one light use? I'm speaking w someone about getting a whole set up done right and would probably run me around 600 or so
