Closet Grow

Hey there everyone. I have a closet, a simple regular closet. I do not know measurements but if I had to guess it would be 3 in a half feet wide and about 2 and a half feet deep in. I used a 600 watt HPS/MH lighting set but my plant started to burn up----leaves become yellow, older ones just die, tips start to char grey. Ok, I understand this light is so damn intense for my simple closet but, how many watts would work for me??? Ill go to Home Depot to get new bulbs and I was thinking on 4oo watt but mabye thats too much even so. What should I do?????????????????????????????????????????????????????

try moving the light farther away from the plants or getting some cfl;s until the plants are bigger

Well, the limitation to my growroom is that the farther I could possibly hang the light is what it is now, about 7 or 8 feet or so. 600watts for that, I dont think so. I think the limited space is the problem for such a big light, only my biggest problem is probably the wattage of my lamp. I feel confident in knowing I need something smaller...sigh

Using a 400w hid myself in a closet a tad smaller then what you have,

And not at any point have you mentioned any type of Fan..!

Yeah, i was just about to say don't ditch your 600W HPS for a 400W because the heat reduction is insignificant. What you need is good ventilation and air circulation.

Sorry. I happen to be using a CVS bought fan that goes from side to side. Its a nice fan with three levels. Actually produced cold air. But my 600 watt eats right through it. It pretty powerful nevertheless.

No not a desk fan, this will do nothing but move heat around your closet.

You need a inline fan to which you can add some ducting and filter if needed, to suck the heat out of the G-room,

Closet up stairs ?

my closet is located in a messy room that no one ever goes in. As far as filtering is conserned, it would be tricky because of my closet slide doors. There two folds, if you will, that it is really fold out door. One knob you slide to the left and one to the right to expose the open closet. Its common.

Yeah I get what you mean, only asked if its up stair as you could punch a tiny hole up through into the loft like what I did

Whats it to be a tiny hole or loads of built up heat ?
