Cloning

Hello All,

I bought a root enhancer for cloning. Does anyone know how to use it. Also is 150 watt light 18-6 enough light.

I have not yet tried to clone with marijana plants but am going to try soon. I have cloned other plants successfully and I thought i would share.
This is how i am going to try again. Take a cutting of the plant about 12 inches long cut clean diagonally with a sharp knife. Dip in root tone. Stick in little pot with good soil, cover with a clear bag and leave under flourescent lights 24/7 for about 14 days. I got great roots and started my plants easily. Make sure it stays watered to maintain humidity. Let you know how it works out with these plants.

150 watts is a little more than you need. For cloning, less is more. If you use too much light, the cuttings will want to grow foliage, rather than directing that energy towards rooting. No, it won't prevent them from rooting, but it'll slow them down, to some degree. I use a 20 watt fluoro bar light, spectrum unknown, placed about 12" above the cuttings, and it works great. The main purpose of lighting, while cloning, is to keep the cuttings in veg, by maintaining the correct photoperiod(18/6, 20/4, 24/0, etc....). With a 150 HPS/MH, it should be placed at least 18" above the cuttings, more is even better. 2', is what I'd be shooting for, maybe even a little more.
