Cloning... what to expect.

okay, so this is day three for our clones... we cut them from the mother, submerged in water and cut again. dipped the cuttings in schultz root hormone and submerged in...

1 is in an oasis cube, the second is in an oasis cube under a little dirt. the last is in just dirt. the clones were put into little i guess 1 and a half inch peat pots, put into plastic tupperware and sit in water about a 1/2 inch high. I put the lid on and i'm using a 22 inch flouro tube that's 24 watts to light them. I'm leaving the light on 24 hours. what can I expect to see at this point??? the leaves are a little droopy, but we trimmed the leaves so they wouldn't be too heavy. at this point they look very unhappy, but I figure this is normal cause we just literally chopped them off the plant.

I just wanted a little guide to see if they were on the right track
any help??? thanks

these are some pics from when we took em... I'll update later today with current pics.

also, the mother was into flowering quite a bit... but i've seen clones taken from flowering mothers before. she's about 4 weeks flowering, will be a month on the 14th

thanks all.

peace

Got anything like a humidity dome or somehing you can place over them? Have you been misting them down? HIgh humidity is critical.

yeah, just switched them to a new container today, it's got a lid and everything, also clear so some light can penetrate. I misted today and the leaves are still wet. the container is pretty foggy. so I imagine the humidity is up there. how often should I open the container? how quickly will they begin to suffocate?

Okay, so Here are the girls today. They seem a little droopy right??? but I think they are still doing okay. I can't afford to get any anti wilt stuff, but I'm hoping for a success still. anyone else have experience cloning white widow??? is she an easy strain to clone?

if they don't work all is not lost. also anyone ever clone in oasis cubes before?
i will reveg the mother after harvest so we can take some more clones. unless one of these three works. how about taking clones from a clone. anyway, what should i expect to see over the next week or two?

Your going to have to be really patient with those clones. They might take a while to root. Just keep misting them and opening that thing up a couple of times a day. Patience.

First off you have to create some air holes for the dome. The clones must have fresh air. Second, cut everything except the top two leaves. The plant doesn't need all that greenage to root. The excess leaves will just weigh the plant down and cause it to wilt further.

First of all, you really shouldn't clone a flowering plant. Because now you have clones that are trying to flower and get roots at the same time. With constant light they should revert back into a vegetative state but that could take a while. I am not saying it can't be done, but man I thought I put my plants through some stress and abuse. Just remember clip your clones before you flower.
Also, once you reveg the mother her total potency with slightly decrease, Secondly cloning a clone is viable it is called and F2 plant, there are cases of plants which are F13.From seed it is an F1plant its clones are F2 and its clone would be F3 and so forth. Further more Reveging can take as much time as growing new plants from seeds.

Don't worry about cloning a flowering plant. Mine was about 3 weeks into flowering, I took 5 clones, didn't trim any leaves down, and it is now day 11 and all are healthy with two having big roots busting out the rockwool. I am going to put those two in cups of soil today and leave in domed tray for until I build up a bigger root bulb as I did with the seeds all this started from. I misted 3 to 4 times a day to keep high humidity and my dome temp. was between 75 and 80 degC. I also use a heating pad under the tray which I like the effects of (see roots quicker). This is my second time trying cloning and I hope all five will turn into healthy plants. One will stay in the veg room as a new mom. Just keep that rockwool damp and don't worry about the droop if it is the lower leaves. THings may be drooping due to heat? Also, I have not used any nutes yet as my last experience I tried very light nute formula when clones and all the leaves yellowed and a couple died. Just my preferences though, hope it helped.

im growing some widow right now , about to take clones so i can identify the sex on the five plants, in my experience cloning i found that only a little mist is necessary if they start to look thirsty, the goal of the first week of clones is to get them to root, the first two days mist away, but after that they should be concentrating on taking moisture through their new roots, for me it sped up rooting by a couple of days, i also was using schultz take root as well hope this helps a little.
