just took some lemon penetration clones from a momma in early stages of flower. If i stick the clone in the same tent(12/12) for a day or two till i get the 2nd clone growing area setup will it be okay? or should i just stick it in a window till I get the closet ready?

Remove from 12/12. I would leave in the tent during lights on. Remove and place in weak light the rest of the time. You’re trying to reverse the flowering process.

From my understanding...clones are not focusing on photosynthesis but concentrating on making roots. When I see roots then I put under full light and have had great success

“HOW TO REVERT FLOWERING CLONES INTO VEGETATION

The optimal timeframe to take your “Monster-Cuttings” is around 2-3 weeks after switching to 12/12. When you see the formation of the first buds, it’s time to take your cuttings. Place them into a glass of water for some time to ensure that no air to enters the vascular system.

Now, you simply switch back to the light cycle you prefer for vegetating your clones, meaning 18/6, 20/4, or 24/0. You don’t need a lot of light intensity at this point. CFL’s with a daylight or “cool white” light spectrum get the job done. If you remove buds of your clones at this point, they will revert into the vegetation state.”

The light cycle is as important as the prep I believe. I could be mistaken.

So I was in the middle of doing just this when this thread came up.
I just threw the clone in a glass of water with a bubbler in my flowering tent (12/12) Seen roots a few weeks later and transplanted under 24 hours of light, and here is 2 weeks later. Not arguing just saying it can be done easily one way or the other.
P.s. I dont take any of the buds off when I reveg my clones either.

If my tent was in veg mode then i would have done it the way you mention, but either way has the same results. 20190920_081301.jpg

Since you guys are are talking about cloning, I have a question. I was told if you keep a mother plant it is best if it has never been flowered. Is there truth to that? Second why is it said that it's best to take cuttings from a flowering plant? I have been taking cuttings off of mother plants that just stay in my propagation area. They were all started from seed and never flowered. Always 18/6. I have had 100% success in my aero cloner, but it does seem to take awhile? Sometimes up to a month before they are healthy looking and are ready for hydroton/baskets.
