i have no rockwool cubes or anything like that around here... i have some cloning powder though... is it okay to just put clones straight into soil? gonna put them in some party cups at first.
 
Yes.

Take the lowest nodes for clones. Remove the bottom sets of leaves and scrap the sides of the stem. Split the stem at the bottom and dip that in your powder. Make a small hole in very wet soil to put the clone in and pack the soil around the base so it doesnt fall over.
Trim the tips of the leaves that remain and put a plastic bag over the plant. Make sure that it gets 24/0 light, not very intense, and keep it warm and moist. In about a week, youll see roots.
In a few days you may want to add a bit more water to the soil. You can add a drop of hydrogen peroxide to assist in root development and sterilize the water.

I have used this technique with 100% success after trying several others with no success.
 
You said you have rooting powder.Add this about 1/2 tsp or so per gal to the water you run threw them.Shake it up good it disolves just fine.Good for transplanting to.Knocks out stress growth right away.Goodluck Oregon024
 
party cups good to go but only fill halfway and after putting in the cup halfway down just spray the inside of cup really well and cover with plastic wrap not a upside down cup. This will seal it good and you will not need to touch them again as you can easily see the condesation has them still moist and you can see the plant still. You will begin to learn when you see the leaves stand taller or pushes the plastic wrap up thats its rooted. Wetting the soil after initial wetting is not good idea as there are no roots yet and the plant is absorbing water from the leaves until it catches. YOu have everything you need already just get some plastic wrap for the top of cup, once rooted I put in bigger pot or another cup this time filled all the way when I need to slow them down a bit waiting for group in front of them in the perpetual. after they catch root I start watering with clonex or very weak nutes. This method is hands free after putting in the cup and setting in my grow room indirectly under lights for the heat which is most important. Cold clones dont root and will rot as you try to keep them moist
