Cloning Mr Sick

I posted a few days ago that I've got a sick plant and I want to try and save him.
Here's my initial post.
https://www.rollitup.org/aerogardeners/346636-first-grow-can-i-save.html

Unfortunately I'm not a gardener at all, so I would really appreciate if someone holds my hand through the process. :) I've read a bunch of threads and am amazed at the knowledge here, so I know I can be successful with some help!

My set up so far is:
-Aerogarden
-separate timer for the lights
-aquarium pump and air stone running 24/7
-fan pointed indirectly 24/7
-distilled water
-small closet in the attic
-Aerogarden Master Gardener nutrients (8mil & 5.5 mil packets)
-thermometer & humidity gauge
-pH tester & up/down
-6500K (1600 lumens) 23w (equiv. 100w) daylight CFLs
-2700K (280 lumens) 7w (equiv. 40w) soft white CFLs
-y-socket adapters
-2 desk lamps

Here's Mr Sick today. It's 82 F, 60% humidity.

1) Where do I cut to clone?
2) I have the little plant label over the root sponge, but I noticed some white spots on the sponge still. Mold? Should I make a tighter cover for the clone? I'll put it in a new sponge.
3) What should my light schedule be and with which bulbs?
4) What should my nutrient schedule be and with which nutrients?

If the plant is already too sick, I can start another. I just want to give it a shot.

Hello Ganja Girl, welcome to riu. I'm not surprised over 40 views and no help, YOU'RE PLANT IS DYING know one wants to give the bad news. So with that said let me offer what I can.

1. Don't cut anything until it recovers.
2. Not an issue at this time.
3. Looks like the AG hood lights should be fine for now, run them 24hrs or 18/6 you're call. I run 24 until flower.
4. No nutes until it starts to recover some, just pH balanced water.
5. 82 degrees is a little warm but not bad, just slows things down.

Here's the deal. If you can start over it will most likely be best, in the time it will take for you're plant to recover, if it recovers, you could germinate seeds and get them into veg a lot quicker. But if saving that one is important to you then go for it.

Good Luck
:peace:

Well, it's not THAT important, I just thought I'd give it a shot.
But I'll take the advice and start over. :)

I was just thinking, you have some open holes in the AG, just start some more and add to the already growing one, no reason to give it up yet..:leaf::leaf: Since it's too early to use any nuets, she might just make it...

agreed you have room still at this stage start some more stay off the nutes just ph'd water

Why would you cut an already weakened plant? The idea of cloning is to propagate another healthy plant from one that has all the attributes you want. Cuttings from it now would most likely give your the same problem with the next generation. The first thing to consider is what's wrong with the mother plant? Cure that first, then clone it.
If it was well into the veggie stage you might want to start with a nutrient change and if it's an only child, (one plant), you may be overfeeding it. I would seriously consider changing your brand of nutrients. I still use A/G's nutes for my wife's kitchen herbs and spices but for M/J I like Technaflor's "recipe for success." With M/J I change my nutes every week, but then I'm growing two to three plants, not one.
I don't like closets or cabinets but the thing that worries me most is the environment. I've never tried growing in an attic. Mine gets hotter than hell and I've heard from reliable sources that the ambient temperature shouldn't be over about 75 degrees.
What's your pH? 5.8 is ideal.
A 16/8, schedule is usually good for all around lighting. Now here's a real money wrench in the works: if you stress the plant too much it likely to do a sex change on you. I've had it happen. Good luck.

HSA,
Maybe its a female seed? Maybe its sentimental? As long as the stress hasn't already caused hermaphrodites, then might as well go for it imho.
