Cloning light question

So clones are 3 weeks old in an LPA cloner, still alive and look to even be growing (maybe that's just high hopes) but not popping roots still. Water temp is staying low 70's. Ph 5.8. Using Clonex by specified amounts.
I think it's the lighting, I have them about 3.5' from a 400w MH. So...I'm going to block them off now from the 400w and put them under a CFL. I have a 27w CFL, but it doesn't say the lumens or K rating.
It's a Kirkland brand says equal to 100w soft white.
Can I just put them CFL in a regular lamp hanging over the middle of them? Have 12 plants in the cloner right now, how far away should it be from the plants?
Thanks in advance!

Edit: Learned a little a changed question lol

Soft white (2700k) lumens prob around 1650 maybe...I dont think that one light will be enough for all those clones. You will definately need more.....make sure you get the light within inches of the tops of the plants.....Remember 6500K is better for veg.......Whats wrong with the MH bulb?

I've been told that too much light can be one reason for longer rooting times. I think my water/air temps, air circ. is ok, so I'm trying to do process of elimination.

try less misting and misting bottom of trays if you keep misting lots the plants wont convert to rooting as fast less misting on plant more misting on bottm of trays roots will go to it if that helps :))

Warm the root area up to about 80 or even 85. Cold will inhibit the root development. I always root clones under a low wattage floro.

Stranger things have happened, but I doubt we know each other. I was here before the bust 2 years ago under another name, but mostly I was on another site. We MAY know each other in real life tho, but again, I doubt it. Are you familiar with the Cabana?

No, not warm water. Continuously wet roots is know for that. Right now you have no roots to rot. Keep them warmer, they'll root faster. First get some roots...worry about them rotting later.

Brought res temps up to high 70's and whether that did the trick or was coincidence with timing I don't know but now I've got roots on about half of the clones while still using the 400w MH. Thanks again for all help and next time I'll start with 80ish water from the start and see if that does the trick.
