Cloning before flower

How long should I wait after I clone before switching to 12-12 flowering. I wanted to have a few clones before I am in flowering. Also I was going to turn the lights off for like 24-48 hours before I switch to flowering. I was told this helps flowering. Is that true

2 weeks after cloning, I have used the 48 hours off before, there really is no way to determine if it works or not, But it DIDN't NOT work.lol
