Cloning a plant in flower?

can i clone my plant if it is already flowering?
i noticed how quickly one of my plants are flowering and it looks like something i would want to keep as a mother for more clones but dont want to screw up the buds i already got.
 
perfect i have a few bottom branches that are not in full bloom yet and would'nt mind snipping them

The closer to the bottom of the plant you cut the branch, the more rooting hormones that branch has to develope roots. I just took clones from a friend for the first time and his were 3 weeks into flower... It took about 3 1/2 weeks to see roots forming, but now they're growing wonderfully! goodluck!
 
Yeah I got a clone of mine about a week or two that the plant was into flowering. I got some hairs at the top but other then that it took root and is growing roots rapidly! :)
 
thats great news the clones i took have a few hairs on them and about 3 weeks in flower YES! i like this particular plant and want to keep growing more of it.

how long is too long to wait could i clone right before harvest? or would that be pushing it.

what are you talking about take a woody bottom branch. you take a green one thats not mature, because the roots grow out of the green, not the woody part.
it doesnt take a whole shit ton longer either. i had to do it last time and it only took like 4 more days to root

Older branches root better because they already have accumulated hormones, starches, etc.

i dunno, you may be right considering ive never used woody branches for clones, but ive never heard of anyone recommending that.
 
i have cloned my flowering plant, the clones are now properly rooted, should i remove the popcorn bud from the clones? will that promote plant growth?

im gonna take a few clones next week i'll take a few from woody bottom and a few from the greener new part of the plant and we'll see if there is any definate difference in rooting faster.

i did find scraping the stem where i put rooting powder made my clones root in 2 weeks
this past cloning i scraped half of them and those have roots right now the ones i diddnt scrape have no roots yet.
 
yeah scrapping definetly helps, as for woody or green, i have no clue, but i wouldnt clone too far into flowering cause it may cause the plant stress and make it hermie :(
