Ok guys i Have a question. I have been doing some resurch on cloning and I Guess everyone has ther own way of doing it so im getting mixed information. I just took 20 cuttings 3 days ago and placed them in a humidity dome with a heat mat under. its 78' in there with a 99% Rh and from wat i understand they shoud show roots in 7-14 days. And once i see roots i can leave it uncovered with water in the bottom untill roots are about an inch long then i can pot them. Does this sound like good information? Thx for any and all help:weed:

I also used RootTech cloning gel,They all came from plants at least 3 months old, and they were all thick cuttings cause from wat im told they root faster then the lil baby tops.

you'll gradually remove humidity dome for lengthening periods. not all at once. open daily to breathe. spray dome if needed.

You can use nothing at all (No gel nor powder) to clone with, Auxins merely help things along. PJ Diaz is dead on. I mist the plants (Lightly, obviously) and always get roots within 10 days. Just keep 'em warm.

I've just started cloning recently I've noticed some strain root faster than others I have one that roots in five days others two weeks I use a ghetto cloner only purchase was the ten dollar air pump n an airstone then I just cover a plastic coffee can with duct tape some hole done I've even use rotting gel on some n none on others and the gel didn't seem to speed up the process maybe its just me.IMAG0148.jpgIMAG0156.jpg

I really dont think they are needed at all (although I DO hedge my bets and use the Greenlight Rooting Powder) Anything I try and root, I have just put in a glass of tap water and let it sit in the kitchen windowsill. Never had anything NOT root.

But as far as sticking a cutting in soil n expecting it to grow I don't think its possible w/o hormones
Thats what I do, fill a cup with soiless mix, make it soupy with water, and keep it warm. Just a single 45degree cut. Seems to work best with a two-node cutting, with the bottom node in the mix. Those slurpy cups or tim hortons' ice-cap cups work well with the dome lids.

Sounds like i should be ok then. I spray them lightly like 1-2 times a day and there a lil water in the bottom of the tray but not much. and the temp is still 77 degrees and 99% RH. One of you guys said i should slowly start taking the dome off right. So wen should i start doing that? after i see some roots? or now its only day 4... wat do you think?

They become dependent on the humidity.. Some people manage without any humidity, but you must wean them off of it, if you are. Basically, high humidity helps them not dry out. You have to give them fresh air daily while keeping the humidity near 100%, and thats the trick. If you have a dome, start putting holes in the dome after 7 days. Every day, put a few more holes in it.. Then after 2 weeks, remove the dome. That might work for you. The real answer is that everybody has something different that works, and its almost impossible to apply their technique and get the same success factor. Review all the methods, find the common aspects, and find what works for you.

^^^Likes, what he said. Everyone has their own ways. Its pretty much trial and era, you cant expect to have great results the first couple times.

Hey guys my clones are 6 days old now and still no roots out of the bottom but on one of the clones has some weird like spikes. wat im assuming is the start of roots. But its weird cause its right at the cuttings base kinda looks like the cutting split and spikes are comming out. Wich i dont really understand because i shoved the cuttings deeper then the pre cut hole would allow. (Rockwool Cube) anyone with any ideas?

How long do they take to root I wonder if gel n powder even speed things up has any one ever done a comparison or is this another way to rip growers off with more magical goods
