could anybody tell me please, when I clone my babies, before any roots develope, the clones start going yellow and then brown, most of them do get roots but they are at such a sorry state it is a wonder they turn into plants at all,,,I have them in rockwool cubes and water the cubes with an eyedrop every 4 days, the water contains 1 drop of superthrive and some rootinghormone. I dont mist them but I do mist the dome itself to keep the humidity up.

You will get some yellowing and wilting as the plant uses the leaves stored food as it has no roots.Make sure to keep the dome warm a good seedling heat mat or heating pad with the tray slight above it works nice.Use a good $8 shop light as close as you can to the done. Make sure you presoak your rockwool in ph 5 water the night before then squeeze the excess water from the cube as you want it moist and wet no soaked or it slows roots and cause rot.I like to add just a little water to cover the tray bottom to make sure they dont dry out.I found rooting powder to work much better then gels. Using clonex gel I get a 70% succces rate with rapid roting root powder I get 98% success.I mist the plants once or twice a day roots usually out in 3-5 days

Like the above poster stated...ph adjust the rockwool before using. I hate rockwool for that reason( and a few others)...and I would stop using superthrive. That stuff is just nothin but problems for the most part.

One drop in a gallon of water to use after a transplant would be about all I would use it for.

Drink!

i thought misting the dome was bad, and misting the plants is good. I might be wrong.

Most recommend that you mist the dome...not the clones. I will mist my clones when I first stick them in the plug...and when they have developed roots and I'm too lazy to transplant them, or I don't have enough room to move them yet.

I simply place a cutting in a cup of water for approx 7-12 days until it forms roots and then I plant it. I've yet to experince any wilting what so ever with this process and the amount of yellowing is also very limited. And lastly, depending on the cutting "age, size etc" will determine most likely how long it takes to form roots.

Prior to this... I would just take a cutting, dip in water then dip in rooting hormone and results were 50/50, sometimes even 60/40 with most of the cuttings wilting, yellowing and then dying.

hey Rabbittingman,
I ran across this while i was researching material. This should help you develope roots fast and plenty more of them so your cuttlings don't go into to much shock. The roots grow like crazy so it has a better chance of staying healthy during this process. Hope this helps for future uses.

NoDamp and (i dk how much you need) and Hydroginperoxide ( 1 to 2 drops for every 1L of water) when you water will help to pervent any rootproblums juring rooting ( i got this off of youTube from a THC Grow lab here in bc), and I also saw that using Liquid seaweed ( i don't know if you need to mix with water or not but I think so but read the directions to make sure) for misting your plants give them nutrents and you should be able to use it at all stages but I don't think u can use it juring the bud stage

PS:Please correct me if I got any thing wrong, thanks

:blsmoke:having a lot of trouble cloning its my first time an dont know where to cut for best results
you want to find a branch that has leafs on it and just take off enough to get about a 3'' to 4'' stem at the bottom (is that enough?) so that you have enough for rooting and enough to have above the soil

This is good stuff. I would just say mist with a weak feed, clones do not bring a food supply with them (beyond what is in stems/leaves) in the way that seeds do, and often come from plants that are being quite heavily fed.
