Two questions.

1. Is it best to take clones at the beginning or end of light cycle?

2. how far away from a 1000watt metal halide should I put them. I mean, can I let them share the light with their mothers and just put them in a dim area?

Yeah thanks for the response ak.fortyseven. I have read this site more times than can be counted over the past two years. That is why I don't have allot of post. That answers none of my questions, it does mention the HID light though it doesn't bother mentioning exact distance or how much shading. It seams that I have read once about time of light cycle would be best but im not sure. It may not matter and I can just fire up the floresent but if there is no need I would rather not.

1. Doesn't really matter.
2. Yes, just let them share. Distance isn't important, just temperature and humidity.

Just one man's opinion

I clone under 400 W Metal Halide and Veg & flower under 1000 watts HPS. Your light isn't going to make any difference. My clones go directly under the 400 less than 12 inches away. I take them when I feel like it, it makes no difference whether it was at the beginning or end of their normal cycle since I veg 24/7 so their cycle is lights on all the time.
