Had clones in a bubble cloner for a week and they ain’t showing any roots, using bottle water @ 20c, half are in the water and half just above, 18/6 cfl light, Wilson root stimulator, anyone have any suggestions?

Weak mother weak clones
Ph is what? has to be checked daily 5.8-6.2
clonex at about 300 ppm's
18/6 I always run mine 24/7
water temp at about 72 degrees
my vision of a bubble cloner might be different than what you have I keep my cuts above the water and it sprays on them.
it takes longer than a week to get roots
is the cfl light a cfl grow light?

Just regular cfl 23 watts, dont have a ph meter

well you knid of need a ppm meter and a ph meter to do hydro cloning..for the most part ...you need to be on top of it if there is any swings you need to know right away to make the adjustments or else you just trying to be lucky imo..I monitor my cuts every day with my meters.

Clonex is ok ..about 300 ppms

You can get ph drops to check the ph
basically if you cant check what these numbers (ph/ppm) are you have absolutely no idea of what is happening or how to adjust it correctly. And cloning in hydro you really need to know , to catch ph swings and to monitor the ppm maybe try rockwool and a clone dome if your not successful in the hydro bucket.

To be serious, the cutoff for me is day 13. Hundreds of cuts, only lost a few ever...My bubble
cloners run on plain, non pH'd tap water, cuts get a dip in either gel, or good ol' Dip-n-Grow. Sometimes not even that, I've had plenty of cuts root in 10 days with no hormones, but they do kickstart the process.

how close are your cfls?
within 12" is a big NO-NO..

other than that just refresh water at the same temperature constantly at least 1x a day and you'll have roots or root bumps in 2-3 weeks.
with an oxygenated system you can get clones in as little as 5-8 days with no hormones just clean water.

too much light wont allow the plants to develop root growth when you are cloning

want to make sure u aren't overlooking something simple.

Really no need to PH when aero cloning.
Straight tap water will work fine.
No roots, no uptake, they are not feeding .
Im going to disagree on the ph thing.. I just recently did some cuts and the only thing that I noticed was I had a ph drop from 6.0 to 4.5 for some reason, adjusted it up. A few days later it dropped again. some plants had rooted but I lost the whole bunch. I can only point at the ph as the reason.

I run a chiller use a grow cfl bulb been doing the same thing for a long time now. ph killed my junk.

no root no uptake in the normal sense but they are absorbing the water, thats is how they stay turgid and dont wilt and die

Just like Mom rooting cuttings in a glass of water.
so that will work for weeed huh?

exactly how do I do this cuz im taking cuts tomorrow. plastic cup glass cup how much water where do I put the cup etc .clear cup put duct tape so light doesnt hit the stem ?? Room temp is about 70 here.

My first wife broke a plant I had in 1971. I freaked. She didn’t. She just stuck it in a glass. Changed water every other day. Took about 2 weeks but it had good roots. She didn’t smoke pot and didn’t care.

She left it in a dark ice tea glass on the kitchen counter. She even had it on top of the fridge. It didn’t care.

I've been cloning for about 2 years and I am super lazy when I do it. I've only ever lost 2 cuttings (made about 120 clones, perhaps more).

I:
- ph my water to 6.0(doin it right)
- don't add anything but tap water(lazy)
- never change the water(lazy)
- use a shop light from Home Depot ($40) about 18"-20" away(cheap)
- fish bubbler to ensure bubbles are popping across the entire water surface(doin it right)
- leave it and don't even think to look at them for 2 weeks(lazy)

Usually by 2 weeks I got a few roots jetting out and the entire stem that is inside the cloner has little white root buds forming.

Give it 3-4 weeks (I change the water sometimes) and my entire res is full of roots.

Don't rush it, don't over do shit, they will root.
