clones in ontario - insight?

Does anyone have any insight into a compassion club offering clones to its members?

We are ready to start doing this - Our lawyer is looking into it..I know what he will say... but what is the real story?

I know other clubs have - few still do - why?

I've never seen clones available at any of the clubs I've been too.
I think once the new system gets put in place this service will be very important however I'm not sure many will take the risk.
What kind of price point do you plan to sell them?
What breeder what strains etc etc everyone has preferences and there's just so many strains out there.
And how would the person growing the mothers and cuttings stay below a certain plant count?

It's probably a more lucrative product then the bud and I know a few people who have kicked the tires on this idea but no one has seen the reward as worth the risk

It's not a clone or sellable til it has roots either.
Starting from seeds takes longer but getting bugs from outside cuts eating your shit sux worse.
Well for the person producing the clones, it doesn't(shouldn't) effect their count until its rooted. But once its rooted its out the door.
Bugs can be dealt with if you take the time to look for them. Still beats starting from seed.

My 2 cents / advice.

- Have the fire/dank, get/select moms that are rare or brand new, do not sell the same old BS everyone has, and do not just pop a 6 pack of seeds and pick a fem and say ok we have our mom, run through a few packs of each strain, pick the best 2 phenos from each strain and offer them up. That is why Tweed fucked up in the start, they just took any fems and made them moms so they can get into production asap, they did not select the right phenos.

- Keep them clean, keep only a few strains so you can maintain them.

- Sell on a pre order system, if you tell people it is a 2 week pre order, then you can take a deposit on the order, soon as you receive the deposit, then take your cuts, keep them sealed up in a tray, if you keep them sealed up and treat with a fungicide as you cut them, and if you have clean moms to start with, then you should not have problems. Keep them sealed, let the client break the seal when they get home.
Mites can not survive 12 days of humidity.

I would think....having an instant variety...of strains to try...would be a huge selling feature.
Variety seems to be one of the main reasons you can manage a tolerance..with mmj...
so if i was allowed 12 plants and utilized 6 strains of cloned females.. I should be able to, switch up
between strains often enough, to keep some effective use of the mmj...
throw in some concentrates once and a while...and lots of other meds can be forgotten about.

You might have a gray area with the not a plant until roots thing. Say you make a tray for someone, say you know the strain roots in 8 days always, you can tell your client to pick up on day 7, tell them to take home tray and let sit sealed for 2 more days, heck put a few extra cuts in each tray just in case 1 or 2 fail.
Doing it that way you are only selling unrooted cuttings, not plants, but you are taking it to a point that your client can work with.

Hopefully in a few months HC will have a new system, and hopefully it will be easier for you to sell cuttings no problem.
regardless good luck and remember to bring the fire.

If I was buying from a Dispensary...which I would on a regular basis...I would be fine with paying more.

more than 20 bucks a clone?
Did they offer them for free?
does that comes with a minimum order ???
I offered, they said "don't worry about it" I said thx and I will return the favour.

I don't expect anyone to do anything for free...

Well I have the racks set up in the club with t5s... The rack can hold 25 1020 trays... I was going to limit to 6 per visit since that's what fits in a descreet box for club exit.

I would have the cuts from our MMAR moms... So you can see the final product of each strain we have available in our club, If done right..
Focusing on strains that do well in southern Ontario outdoor...
A tonne of requests so I thought I would make it happen for club members....
