Clone problems

I cant seem to keep a clone alive, My mother plants are awesome but here's my steps tell me where i screw up.
1. I get my clipping by taking a 45 degree angle about four to five inches down a good looking branch.
2. I immediately place it in cloning gel and then into my rockwool that has been presoaked in water no too wet but a good drink.
into the prop tent that i spray with water and evry time they die this last batch is looking good but. who knows.
3. i have one hole in the top of the tent and the light is about 1 inch above the top of the tent.

The cuttings may be too large with too much leaf mass. You can trim off the half of the fan leaves to reduce area or take smaller cuttings.

Thanks if these dont take thats what i'm going to do.
Also I just realized my soft water was a big problem that i didnt realize(salt) so i bypassed it and filtered the tap and then lowered the ph to about 6.8 and hopefully this will help as well.

Id say cut the smalller clones with little less leaf on them. Some growers not I like bigger clones and cut the leaves on each clone in half they say to save the need for as much food.Do you mist like 2 times aday? Use a heating pad under tray?Make sure to open the dome take it off twice a day after day 2 for abou 10 minutes each time to refresh air. I like to breathe into dome when putting it back on for a little charge of humane co2.

I'll give those steps a try as well, hopefully this batch will survive. i was spraying once a day and taking the tent off for about a half hour. maybe ill change that around to see what happens.

Try twice a day mist when you get up and then sometime around dinner time again. Do the 10 -15 minute top off aday to limit the humodity change shock until at least day 4-5 then you can slowly increase. If they seem to wilt fast put it back on . As you take the top off each day if they dontwilt leave it off and just see if they dont wilt your good to go.

In addition to the good responses above, you might consider switching from cloning gel to rooting powder. The gels tend to get old and ineffective.

By the way i'm glad you said something because the back row of the clones are powder and the front row are gel and i threw two out yesterday that totally wilted.
other than that i have not missed a step, my rockwool are damp but not soaked and when i mist ill give the rockwool a squirt about everyother day if it feels dry or light. these are three days old now.
