Clone after Flower/ 2nd Harvest

Is it a good Idea to try and clone a plant that is already done flowering and ready to harvest? Is there anyway to harvest without killing the plant? I realize sending a flowering plant back into veg stresses it and could kill it. (first time grower and poster)

i've done it but it takes along time for it to re-veg like a month . just cut the best buds off leaving some leaves and popcorn buds on the plant. put back in the veg room.
