I thought it was just the tip of the iceberg.

No iceberg then? That seems appropriate....

Anybody else remember that thread a while back, I forgot the name of it, Global Warming... something.. where the majority of the debate took place? Can't seem to find it...

We who make Colorado home are very aware, and concerned, by the significant changes which are occurring in our weather patterns. Within our state we have the head waters of many rivers, and within my own life time these rivers have begun to dwindle. As a child I remember seeing the glaciers on Pikes Peak, Now those glaciers have been gone for so long that many people refuse to believe they were ever there. Don't fuck with mother nature because she can fuck us hard, and never uses lube.

Especially when you consider that if humans ceased to exist today, it would take 1000 years for the temps to decrease 1 degree F if everything else stayed the same. If the sun ceased to exist the temps would fall to 60 below zero in a couple of days and literrally overnight all life on earth would become extinct. My point? The sun has more to do with global warmth than all the people ever will.

never ceases to amaze me how many people KNOW better than the leading publishing climate scientists....

The Sun is essentially in a constant state, except for the 11 year cycle.

So why is the Earth getting hotter decade by decade while the energy emitted from the Sun remains constant?

Yeah the same guys who are getting paid to keep publishing/researching this crap. It’s all about the dollars baby, a lot of people got filthy rich off this scam

so you are saying this is all a conspiracy? please spell out the details of this conspiracy. how does it work? who profits, and how? if the data is so fake, why has no one given an alternate explanation that explains the phenomenons better?

also be sure to take into account those that are researching how to live with the effects of climate change rather than mitigate the effects and explain why they are so dedicated to this 'crap' that they have moved beyond

trying to get a valid explanation for this from a climate skeptic is like sucking blood from a stone...

Xrt, NoDrama, can you answer that question?

I'm also interested in the specifics of the conspiracy you mentioned Xrt. I've heard people from this forum propose the same idea and we always go down the same road, I ask the specifics and nobody ever fills em in.

Who is making money off of people believing greenhouse gasses emitted by human activity is causing climate change?

How are hundreds of thousands of independent researchers and scientists from every country and continent contributing to this conspiracy?

What is the benefit of keeping dependent on oil, our current main source of global energy, and not developing and alternating to renewable, cleaner sources of energy?

Either of you mind answering those questions?

They won't answer them directly because they cant defend their position using logic. Instead there will be name calling, here I'll save them the trouble "liberal", "tree hugger" etc. etc.

They refuse to believe science over the talking heads. There is no way that anyone impartial can believe that reducing our dependence on oil is a bad thing. I'm no tree hugger in any way, but seeing the Gulf Coast get destroyed along w/ the fishing and tourism industry hits home. I live on the coast and depend on tourism for a good portion of my income. I cant imagine being in the shoes of those people down there.

Why not harvest energy from wind, tides and solar? Would you guys really rather make a lot of our enemies rich and arm them w/ the oil profits?

Why not harvest energy from wind, tides and solar?

Cause powering something like NYC on wind/solar energy is completely feasible... :eyesmoke:

How would cap and trade (which essentially is where "climate change" has brought us) NOT make select individuals rich?? Your placing a price on something that is invaluable...

The scientist are making the money
They pocket "research" money

How are hundreds of thousands of independent researchers and scientists from every country and continent contributing to this conspiracy?
Those scientist lied and gave wrong information to other scientist
Some scientist pitched in this scam
Others believed it b/c of the the wrong and fake info

What is the benefit of keeping dependent on oil, our current main source of global energy, and not developing and alternating to renewable, cleaner sources of energy?
Are we not working on that?
I am sure we are awar that oil will one day be gone

Either of you mind answering those questions?
I did

Yep, it's a big conspiracy. The evil scientists are just plotting to get rich. At night, when nobody's looking they're all out on the glaciers with little blow torches.

ice melts
ice forms
if you say ice is not suposed to melt
then it is like saying cave men during the ice age had factories and cars
