I've had a very strange experience with Clearwater.

I picked up a pack of 12 fem "Oreoz x Matai #4".
6 of the 12 did not germinate, and of the 6 that did germinate, 3 of them had triple cotyledons and 1 had a quadruple cotyledon (which I have never seen before. It reminded me of a clover leaf as it opened up!). The remaining 2 were normal. It also took 6 days for them to germinate.

I'm not bitter and I am not going to make a big deal about it. I just wanted to share this unusual experience. It would actually be rather funny if these mutant, low vigor seeds turned out to be something interesting in flower.

For reference, I started some other seeds at the same time and in the same conditions and they were perfectly normal: 100% germination within about 48 hours and all normal in appearance.

Was he watering his mother with radioactive waste?

I got the same sort of thing with karma sour x devil driver and Apple fritter x creamsicle 4. 100% germination but like 50% were mutants or stunted runts. Just wanted to share. At the price I got them for 12 beans, I don’t really care, just wanted to say I got the same weird amount of runts.

Interesting, thanks for sharing.

Since I made that post, I got rid of 2 more of them that were hopelessly stunted and weak (one of them terminated the main growing stock into just a giant leaf!). Of the 4 that remain from the original 12, they are looking excellent in late veg. Still a bit of a bummer for 12 fem seeds to only end up with 4 before even going into flower, but all would be forgiven if one or more of them turned out nice. If they don't, I think that I will probably look elsewhere in the future. So many choices out there.

Funny that. I had a similar experience with the three ECSD x Mai Tai #4 seeds I recently popped.

I grew them out, and they are looking healthy and normal entering 5th week of veg.

I popped 6 black velvet s1 every single one mutant and three cotyledons. As of now they are all stunted. pretty pissed ya know

Dang!

As mentioned previously, I only had 6 come up from the original 12. Out of the 6, four were mutants with 3 having 3 cotyledons and one having 4, which I have never seen before. I grew them out anyhow. One of them terminated in just a giant leaf, however there were was one node below it on the plant which continued to grow. 2 of the 6 were culled due to being ridiculously unhealthy. Of the remaining 4, one was culled a couple weeks into flower because.... yeah you guessed it.... it developed a bizarre twisted branch mutation which I have also never seen before.

But here's the thing: out of all of that crap, the remaining 3 plants are thick, beautiful (at 4 weeks), and terpy. They might actually end up being good smoke when they finish. I'll update if that turns out to be the case. What a strange experience this pack has been. If even one good keeper-level plant were to come from these 3 survivors, then I would have to say that it was worth it, in spite of the frustrations.

General question to anyone reading:
Could it be that all of this inbreeding is starting to create some issues with genetic stability? I have been doing this for a while, and I remember only extremely rarely encountering mutants in the past. In the real old days, even hermies were very rare, at least in the seeds that I did.

Yes it's been going on with a lot more breeders this runs specifically I've had mutants from THC Titan Clearwater and in-house all three every bean I pop was a mutant now I'm also growing some solfire and grow more less stress and all of them are normal right now. I'm in the same boat if I get something that's worth it it won't be an issue but I also have gear from these breeders that I purchased where they were on sale and I'm kind of bummed cuz if this happens with every pack and every being it's going to be kind of rough it's going to make her some long grows that's for sure!! It extends veg time by like 3-4 weeks
