Cleaning shroom filters?

i bought this dust shroom filter a few years ago and want to use it again to keep dust and all that from getting into my hood. Anyways, I was wondering how you guys clean these once they start getting caked up with debris. They’ve discontinued the cleaning kit for these filters,...so I just ran really hot water through it and am hang drying it (heard that was an alternative way to clean it). It seems I should use some kind of cleaning solution though with the hot water but I don’t want to clog it up. Thanks y’all

Dish soap or something similar should work just fine. Should be no different that cleaning a pre-filter for air filter.

Yep, just warm water and some dish soap should do it.

Cool cool. It’s been hang drying since yesterday, so I will probably try it out it today. Would you guys suggest re oiling the filter. (I’m usually the type of farmer that just rebuys rather than reuses, but finances are tight and it’s not a bad time to learn to be more frugal ha).

Dang, it still smells like it’s dirty. It has this old rubber smell and idk if that natural or what, but that smell does disperse into my grow room if I hook it up to my ducting. It gives my entire tent an old rubber smell. I’m probably going to call the manufacturer and ask, but thought I would throw the question here as well

Yea I might try that. I can’t find any of washing products for the horti culture dust shroom filter. They used to have special oil and washing solution for reuse but it’s been discontinued I’m probably just going to scrap it. For those wondering, this 80 dollar filter was by far, the least necessary item I ever bought

What 8 in filters you using? For cooling room from outdoors to indoor.

I just toss them in the washing machine then hang dry and spray it down with olive oil or veggie oil.

The PAM cooking spray works well to oil the clean filter. I spray it inside and install it then spray the outside.

Nice. I was just about to tag you since I was reading this. Awesome timing. The clothes washing machine? Do you add any soap? Thanks man.

I've been lazy lately and just use a dust roller on the outside occasionally. But they could use a real cleaning.

Yes and yes. I use the gentle cycle. I couldn't do my bigger 10 and 12 inchers in my washer, just the 8's but the laundromat has the big machine that will do them for me.
