cleaning Kilner jars

so i have this Kilner mason jar the ones with the orange rubber seal and metel clips. It was uesed for pickled onions i could not get the smell out tried every thing. Then i thought white sprits might do the trick but now my jar smells like white spirits will it be ok to put my buds in?

use baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. swirl the bejesus out of it, and repeat.
should work
oh and DONT close the lid while doing that... exploding jars...
works on damn near everything.
also isopropyl alcohol works too, if you alternate it gets pretty much everything cleaned

yeah tried the baking soda with warm water method but still did not work will try it again tho

no baking soda and warm water doesn't do anything.
you need hydrogen peroxide to activate the oxidation of the baking soda brother, it's the chemical reaction that makes it clean

Go to Ross or TJ Max. Those jars are $4 each for the big ones. I have several diff sizes and brands. I like the blue top fido jars.

also any ideas to get the pickled onion smell of the rubber seal do i just put that in the mix

This might work, put sunlight dish soap and very hot water, shake very well, open cover and let sit until you need them, or as long as you can.
