Class project: What are the biggest challenges in cannabis production?

I am creating a business model in a class at my university to help growers increase the energy efficiency and reduce costs of indoor cannabis production.

In order to do this, my team needs to know what the energy/cost-related challenges are for growers!

1) What are cannabis growers' greatest challenges?

2a) What services, if any, do you already use to help you manage your energy use & keep costs low?

2b) How expensive are those services?

3) How do you prefer to receive your information?

4) What are the most important parameters that need to be monitored regarding growing?

Thanks so much for your help!

your not getting many replies, largely because (imo)
use your nogin... we have different growing styles. organic no till to hydro and so many variables. ive ran 49 day strains and 180 day flowering strains.
my elec is between $.08-.12 kwh in a residential plan i guess.. a third of cali..

then why dont yiur questions reflect this?

seems to me like yiur trying to make a growers app lol

1) What are cannabis growers' greatest challenges?

thats a ridiculously ignorant question. detection, odor, cops/robbers, cloning and maintaining a perpetual system. trimming, drying/curing, and doing in a timely or proper manner.pests, mold, distribution, just keeping the plants healthy..shit blackouts, landlords haha

2a) What services, if any, do you already use to help you manage your energy use & keep costs low?

services?

2b) How expensive are those services?

^^^^^^^^^^
see above

3) How do you prefer to receive your information?

what info?
i like live read outs of my grow houses on my phone. everything my grow is doing

4) What are the most important parameters that need to be monitored regarding growing?

lighting, how much varies. some strains i actually bleach slightly like my landrace chemdog thing giving tighter chunky buds and boosting terps.. some other strains i would not recommend this.. light has the biggest impact on yield And money.
raising lowering, replacing bulb yearly

temp, 80-82° in germ and until the round seedling leaves are surpassed. high 60's low 70 to promote fem ratios, after this is determined 75-85°f we all have our preference and again ac cost money.. temp affects many processes in the plant

water, this is easy enough..my grow houses are automated. when the soil is too dry it waters until it reaches a set parameter or if i want run off.. also holding a consistent ph and keeping this sanitary if using a large container of water holding nutes and whatever

nutes, thevneeds change throughout the life of the plant and between strains

rh, self explanatory..basically controls transpiration with airflow affecting nute/water draw and dif processes in the plant..dry air can lead to certain deficiency

airflow, again self explanatory, temp control largely, also removes saturation layer around leaves ie more co2 less rh

my grow is ~$.30 per gram after its all said and done...yiu can use machine trimmers if yiu like
