I've only grown two versions so far, female seeds and the new brothers grimm fems. The FS version I've grown several times and is always one of the largest yeilders in my garden. It has thin leaves and a sweet pineapple smell, sometimes with cheesy undertones. The buds are not rock solid but are large and tend to cover the plant from top to bottom. It's very branchy and a single topping is enough to create 4-6 tops. Can be done as early as 50 days but I've taken them to 63. Earlier harvesting brings the typical euphoric sativa high but letting them go longer will introduce some sedating qualities to the buds. The BG I've only grown one of so far and that one was.... Not what I expected. Granted one is a small sample size but the leaves we're larger and thicker, the buds smaller but more solid, and the smell was not nearly as sweet. It also took longer to finish. If the C'99 from fs is as most say similar to the original than I definitely question BG's newest offerings and whether they are from original stock.

Thanks for your reply. What about the effects, how do FS and New BG compare in terms of high? Sounds like the New BG has more indica (larger, thicker leaves, buds are more solid, etc) and probably the effect is less sativa than the FS version.

I grew out the Canuck C99
Ok smoke , I kept 1 fast pheno around bc of the speed n yeild. I won’t be running anyone’s C99 again.
Holy Grail it is not . Does it deserve all the hype? Not a chance
I've read several posts from people who originally felt disappointed like you do, say that C99 benefits from a long cure and that the older the clone, the better the final product. Like this:

Potency is the weird part of C99, my Mosca C99 was an ok high until it was cured. The only plant I saw such a huge difference in with curing (I always see a diff and curing is a staple in my program, BUT c99 was night and day) from alright B shelf to AAA+ with a 3 week jar cure. So 56 days grow + 6 day hang + 21 day cure = sativa! lol

Now when you hear about 99 , mostly it’s pineapple, some grapefruit, and the under tones of cheese.
When 99 first came out , you wanted the rotten meat/pineapple, I don’t hear about the meat at all now.
I’ve done multiple runs on older clones , and phenos . And cured up to 6weeks .
My opinion isn’t from one run, the more I run it the less I like it.
Grows good, great yeild,
I don’t like the smoke, lots do tho.

Just started a C99 grow, I'm gonna go thru a few different breeders to look for a decent pheno. Right now i have Female Seeds c99 and blimburn c99 going, and will be ordering bros grimm and joeys weed c99.
If u get time check my grow journal.

Email peakseedsbc about his c99. I got like 30+ beans for like $70 bucks plus shipping and his c99 is legit.
Here is my keeper at 29 days 12/12, the one posted a couple post back. Seed run had big dense buds with almost no fan leaves. Right now she has a sweet fruity smell, much sweeter and fruity than first run. I expect this plant to have descent sized nodges on her.

female seeds c99 was apparently crossed with durban poison so takes a little longer to flower.

Yes. Supposed Mike J, owner of Peak, bought c99 seed stock for brothers Grimm before they shut down several years ago. So Mike J's c99 is legit, I believe he has both grapefruit leaners and pineapple leaners.

have you had any cal/mag deficiencies? ive read someone said he grew c99 for many years said it was a magnesium hog. Couple that with I'm groin in coco AND under led's (which folks are saying brings that issue out also).....just wanted see if you had any advice

I haven't had any calmag issues. I'm running in coco using canna A and B with 5 ml of calm mag with every feeding though. I haven't had to raise that amount so far.

I was under a 400w hps until last night when I switched to a 315w cmh. So I might have to adjust my feedings as well. I'll keep you updated.

Sorry, yes 5ml of calmag per gal, along with nutrients. I run as low of ppm as needed. I started the c99 clone in canna coco using 2ml canna A and B nutes w/ 5ml calmag every watering, then bumped up to 5ml A and B for rest of veg and first week or so of flower. Right now I'm using 7 ml of A and B, 4 ml Kool bloom, 5 ml of cal mag and always adjust to 5.4-5.8 ph level.

I just did a rub on the c99 and I'm getting a grape smell and not grapefruit or citrus but rather a sweet grape juice type smell, I'm digging it big time.

When you say A n B is that the grow AB? There’s bloom AB too? I’ve heard these products work well without additives. Other than cal mag. Tks

Had the cut out in OR. @BigHornBuds is exactly right, not a grail by any means, nowadays they say fruit punch, more potent, or pineapple. I thought it and Jack Herer were two of the most overrated strains I'd tried.I sure wouldn't grow it by itself, I think thats why you see it in so many crosses. jmo
