Someone should do some digging on this, the Chinese are notorious for their counterfeiting and I've heard of cases where the knockoffs even have better quality than the originals with some products.
There are definite Meanwell clones in the world, and I promise you they are not better quality than the real thing :)

You are not far wrong captain having dealt with the Chinese market in the past with regards to certain electronics I can confirm from personal experience and insider knowledge that most companies there will tell you anything in order to get the sale...You have to consider the saying "too good to be true" or in this case "too cheap to be good".

Having said that it's a first for me to hear a case where a knockoff was better quality than the original....consider this for a moment if your business is in a market system where the ethos is all about under-cutting your competitor, you will soon find that the quality of the end product is going to suffer as a direct result......Cheap rarely equals better so buyer beware!!!.

That first link looks straight up posh DIY including wagos. I think our Chinese brothers have been paying attention to the forums. I think shipping may sting a bit though. The shiping on the pin heatsinks I ordered recently cost more than the items.

Cheers,
Will

If the raw materials prove legit it is only a matter of time before somebody imports a shipping container of these to the west. Rebrand them to suit whichever country is their target market. The 'Merica freedom light or the U.K. independence light, Canadian hockey light etc.

It is a shame really because quite a few members here have been innovators and have invested time and money into their products. These fixture are capitalising on the legwork of enthusiasts who have an interest and dare I say love for our hobby. It would be nice if as a collective forum we steered new LED initiates into supporting these innovators instead feeding the mass production behemoth that is China.Who I am kidding though, that is not the world in which we live.

Cheers,
Will

These are the guys i have been talked about.
Have talked with them, they know what they are doing.
Of course they also can change the COBs as you like.

What do you think?
Does it still worth to make DIY, or better buy from the chinese guys?

The lights aren't that efficient like 43% and the heat sinks look too thin
