Chicago Native here, need some help/advice...

I'm going to cut to the chase. My left knee has been bothering me for a good 5 months now. It's more of an aching pain but if I constantly use it(My job is very labor intensive, up and down the stairs for 8+hours/5 days a week)it'll turn into a sharp pain, in which I have to stop for a few minutes to give it some rest. I've been to numerous doctors in Chicago, and numerous times they have just decided to give me pain-relievers/pain killers. Quite honestly, I'm not fond of taking any sort of pills, let alone pain-relievers/killers. They always give me an upset stomach(no matter how much I eat) and I honestly don't like the lingering feeling they leave me in while i'm on them, especially while working. A real good friend of mine, who happens to smoke MJ regularly, told me to do some research on the benefits of Medical Marijuana, and then eventually let me try some. Not only did it help out tremendously, but it didn't give me an upset stomach and I could continue to work through my day normally.

Now in Illinois, Medical Marijuana doesn't exist yet, because it is still illegal. My question is, is it possible to obtain a Michigan Medical Marijuana card while having a Chicago address? Any suggestions/advice would be highly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

sorry but you'll need michigan identification to demonstrate michigan residency to become a michigan medical marijuana cardholder. can't you just score in Chicago to begin your new medical journey?

were gonna have medical marijuana here very soon... chronic pain is not a condition Illinois will let drs give rec.s for patiants... not intially atleast... but just the passing of this law opens the door for lawsuits to be filed and won like were done in other states... it will be like cali here in the next 5-7 years...

Yeah for sure. But I was just wondering if there was a legal alternative, just in case I have to prove something for future employment. I want to make sure I don't mess up by getting dropped, especially if I don't have a legitimate reason to have it. Thank you for your input.

It's good to hear you found something to help man. Write your story exactly as you said here, for your local elected officials.
I would imagine their e-mails are pretty easy to find on Norml's website or something. Every little bit helps. Tell them not only
is it more effective, it's a a hell of a lot healthier and less addictive too. I hope IL. turns the corner soon.

Even Still the only thing Michigan's law protects us from is prosecution (still awesome) but unfortunately employers can still deny and or terminate employment on a failed "drop".( BS if you ask me)

OP, there is a man somewhere in the chicago customs office, look for the one with red eyes and headphones on. this man will have a large supply of beans hidden somewhere and I'm sure if you asked nicely he would let you have some as he didn't pay for any of them!

There is no getting around becoming a Michigan resident I'm afraid. Come on up. It's a pretty nice place.

you have to prove residency in Michigan ... also a Michigan card would not cover you in Illinois as it isnt legal.

Yea... but if your fired from failing a drug test at work your eligible for unemployment benefits
