When i found out I couldn't have an outdoor grow this year because I was going away on vacation and my mom was staying here; plus I did not have my card as of yet, I salvaged ONE plant.
Meanwhile I had about 20 plants I was going to put outside and had to flower them instead.

I decided to take one of the plants outside after being in flower for 2 weeks and see if I couldn't get it back to veg cycle.

Well it never really went back to proper veg cycle. This isn't something I normally would do so I am not sure if this is normal or not. I'm sure its not normal but it probably is what is to be expected.

For weeks it stayed in a stage where it only produced leaves of 3 and some single leaves. It really looked unusual. Then it started getting 5 point leaves but has stayed still looking like it is 2 weeks into flowering.

I'm quite sure it will successfully flower but am wondering if anyone else has had any experience with this that they might shed some light or comment on.?????????

Here are some pics of what it looks like now. It is about 4 1/2 to 5 months old and is about 7 feet tall but is not in a pot. It planted along side of my deck and has a mixture of potting soil, compost and rich earth.

Its about 5 to 6 feet wide and the stalk is very thick.

I will try and find the pics of when I put it out.

I have one thats been outside since the beginning and its doing the same thing. I think its the weather we've been getting. It was cloudy/rainy for weeks straight and I believe that made the plant want to flower because it started flowering and the number of points on the leaves went down to 3 and 1... but then the weather cleared up and its been very sunny. So now, its starting to grow 5 point leaves.

The same thing happened to me a couple of years back...For the longest time it just produce only 3-bladed leaves and then out of nowhere some 5-bladed then some 7-bladed...If heard it could either be from stress, light change, and i think FDD said it was from it trying to flower but then went back to VEG..

Anyways, flowering time came by and it just started looking more and more normal and more like marijuana plant lol... because it really didnt before... But flowering couldnt of been more successful and produced a great production even after all of the leaf changes...

I hope this helps some..and any more Q's i'll be happy to help...Damn nice plant by the way..

yes this is true. We have been having a very unseasonally rainy summer.

I'm sure it will balance itself out soon. I hope:|

i have had clones taken from a budding mother, where the main head looks like ots a week or 2 into flower for the whole cycle, but i've never seen it on a developed plant.........the single leaves sound like shock, but shocked plants usually quit growing......and that beast obviously hasn't.... thats gota be a botanical miracle, or an awesome phenomena..... what ever it is, she's still a beauty.

I expected that to happen.
I plants leaf tip increase in the veg cycle up to 9 or 11 sometimes more, then they decrease in the flowering stage.

I have expected to get 7 blade leaves BUT what I did not expect is for it to be in this '2 week' flowering stage for this long.

Anyways, flowering time came by and it just started looking more and more normal and more like marijuana plant lol... because it really didnt before... But flowering couldnt of been more successful and produced a great production even after all of the leaf changes...

thanks. Yes it does help. I am not the least bit worried about its health or whether it is going to flower and there is NO way that it si going to die.

I've gorwn hundreds of plants and haven't had one die on me yet.:hump:

i have had clones taken from a budding mother, where the main head looks like ots a week or 2 into flower for the whole cycle, thats EXACTLY what is happening to this plant...lol:mrgreen:
Its kinda of messed up but is pulling through just fine!!!!
sort of like me:?

but i've never seen it on a developed plant.........the single leaves sound like shock, the single leave stopped about a month or more ago.

but shocked plants usually quit growing......No they don't stop growing, they go into almost a dormant stage. The more stress the plant has the more it usually will stay in this stage.

This plant is NOTin this stage any longer although it was for about 2 weeks or more.

thanks...she is.

Nah...that'll never happen with me. but thanks anyway.

I think its just stress related shock? The same thing has happened to me before ( this was in 1985 ) and if I remember correct, she kept developing 1 and 3 finger leaf till she finished flowering. Let us know how it turns out.

I've had the same leaf phenomenon happen to me several times, always due to taking clones from pre to semi-flowering plants and reverting to veg. I don't think it should slow you down much at this point in the game on a nice healthy plant like that. I've even ended up with funky one-bladers as big as my hand!
Some strains I've worked with always seem to do it from clone as well. Usually they'll start from three and work their way back up to five or seven. Keep on taking care of her and she should fall back into rhythm.
My two cents...

I was just reading that when this happens you should dose her with superthrive to stabalize the hormonal balance, which will allow her to go into flower just like normal...

Yes I think it is falling back to normal. I just can't tell when it is pre-flowering because it has been in this same stage for so long.
I think it might actually be flowering now (properly so)

thank you for your reply.

ok. I am just going to let it go and see what happens. I will start feeding her some extra nutes soon.

She's really big now.

You guys are lucky; I had 80 minutes of rain from february to july. Then, this week I finally had an inch and a half. Being an outdoor grow that sucked big time. My arms and legs are killing me - I have to water every day here because of the drought conditions. Needless to say, my ladies could look better going into flowering. I guess I should be gratefull we had any rain at all!

OMG! We have had so much rain thi season plus had an usual amount of snow as well. I really wish I had gotten my card earlier so i could have put some plants out but I didn't.
Syill its better to be safe than sorry/

Sorry you have been having such dry weather.

You need to try and soak them once a week if possible.

Last year for me was the summer of buckets. :? Had a few patches that would drink it a hell of a lot faster than I could carry it out.... This year I almost feel like I'm slacking, haven't really carried many pails of water since the initial wet-down of the peat. I'll take hauling pails in the fall over mold though...
