I searched Craigslist for kicks yesterday and found a few used for under $100.

i would pay the 136 or so for the HTG they have 2 year warranties an the 100 ones are usually used or refurbs,id prefer new but its up to u htg's seem to be better quality heres a pic of the htg one

I bought 2 systems from them 250m and 250 h both of them broke in less then a week and by the time they replaced them my plants were hurting. They also screwed up on the delivery address not once but twice.I would not recomend them at all. I took the forums advise and I guess I was the unlucky customer.

Good deals can be found on Amazon as well.

Its always a little sketchy buying used equipment off of craigslist, but it has saved me alot f money. Picked up a Hydrofarm 400w HPS System for only $50 this week. Didnt need it but who knows when I will. I'd start there and see whats for sale in your area.

i second craigslist i got a hanna grochek ph/ec/tds meter for 50 new the damn thing is 170, use the search terms sodium, halide, hps, mh, industrial light (lighting), agricultural light, grow light, hydro, hydroponic, hydroponics. those are the most fruitful, just try to get as much info about what you are buying before you go. And if they ask and they wont what you are going to grow with it just say out of season fruits and veggies.

There are 2 types of people who win negotiations, 1 the well informed and 2 the patient. Your best bet is to combine them. My deal questing mantra read, learn, and wait until you are happy.
