You've got a few choices bro, you could just use your tap water and adjust your PH to the 5.2-6.5 range and buy base nutes that are made for hard water, they are usualy called the same thing but have some kinda tag line in front of the name that says "hardwater".dude....since i live in a major city, next to the coast, anmd my ph is over 8.5!! woiuld u reccomened i use filtered water like ro or distilled??
If you've got the green (the cash type) get a Reverse Osmosis filter (RO), i hear they're expensive and waste a lot of water but will give you the clean slate that dude was talking about a few posts ago.
I'm not so sure about the distilled water man, i think that's what I've been getting from here at work but to be honest with you I haven't checked the PPM's of it yet, (I just assumed it was more pure cause it's coming from deer park and is from a water cooler) I'll tell you what I'll do, I'll check the ph of this work water and see if it's better quality and let you know about the distilled stuff.
Right now, if your on a budget and just getting started anyway, I suggest you just use your tap water and adjust a couple things accordingly. You'll get some good experiance and save a bunch of $$ while you perfect your techniques.
Sorry it took so long to respond, I didn't see the question till just a min ago.
