I only have a 13 watt cfl but I also have a 60 watt normal light bulb will putting both together work better or should I not put the normal one in at all?

Well, the normal one has the light for flowering but not the intensity. 600 watts of HID, is much better, and so much harder to deal with....sigh....been there, done that. I was convinced I could grow in a garbage can. :)

So, it is a sick equation on you. Space, Situation and Funds.

But, Cervantes said, you can't grow anything worthwhile "under the kitchen sink." So true. Need Space.

Here is the sad math. At the best, you can dream about 1 gram dry buds / per watt and I am still working on it.

I have documented 1/4 gram / watt, so far in the experiments. Could easily double that, this run....under 1000w.

Watts add heat, yield adds smell. Situation.

How to deal with with that? Funds.

So, you tell me. Is your situation such that you find it worth it, to only produce 4 grams after all that?

I would not put that 60 in there. Get 2 x 40 w CFL. Then you can have a bit of yield curve to work up, without adding all that 60w heat.

Or is this just experiment kit?

This is not an experiment try for some personal I don't have to pay for haha an I have been looking at like 65 watt cfl with over 4k lumens an kelvin was gunna get 2 an what bulb should I get for flowering keep in mind I'm restricted to ace hardware walmart an places like that small little town not much here. The funny thing is also it's under a sink that's where I got the idea haha so far as the funds I have it Mathed out to get my cigs and a quarter at the time with bills paid so bulbs under like 30 would be very helpful I can get the bulb socket adapters an have the cords to use it. Do you think 2 65 watt cfl with over 4k lumens an kelvins work good for veg?

For veg you want blue spectrum lighting, flowering red. Two of those cfls should be enough. But I'd get one more honestly and go with an angled lighting system to hit the undergrowth.

LMFAO...you guys sound like me when I started...yes wallyworld has a nice assortment of CFLs cheap...you want 6500k for veg and 2700k for flower...you will need at least 120w (actual watts, not equivalent) per plant, and surround that baby...when it's big enough...for right now your 13watter will work until you get a couple sets of leaves...make sure you put them close, like 2 inches from them...good luck and give up that 1/4 and get some equipment and you won't have that weed bill again :bigjoint:...peace and welcome to RIU everyone...

Get the right color bulb and you should be good I started mine that are flowering under two 36 t8s there flowering now. I just started a few with same t8 and two extra cfls. The growth was almost doubled with the cfls but more lights is what you need

Thanks everybody so how long do you think till I need to get those lamps like do I need them immediately?
Oh...so cute. This is not a day by day thing. I used to track week by week, then every two weeks. Then I tried to track everything monthly.....oh boy. Now I just track by when I transplant each time.

You have time. All the time. Don't over water.
