Charcoal filter funnel

Started collecting my own water and since dust and all sorts of unwanted particals enter my rain drums.

I figured it would be a good idea to filter the water before feeding my lovelys.

I sourced a charcoal filter head designed for taps $_1.JPG

With that I decided to create a funnel system using my daughters pop top juice bottle.20150801_010118.jpeg20150801_010213.jpeg

Parts used; plumbers tape, pantyhose, charcoal Filter, juice bottle. Total cost $3

Very cheap and effective way, to remove some of the gunk we dont want.

Thought i'd share!!

I have zero data to back this up, but I would rather just run it through a piece of cheese cloth or a fine screen. The charcoal might filter out a lot of the micronutrients that rain water is known for, thus making it less beneficial over RO water. Just my two cents.
