Changing lighting schedule by 12 hours.

I would like to change my lights from being on in the day (8am-8pm) to on in the night (8pm-8am). Right now the days are getting warmer and my temps are getting a little high and will only continue to get higher.
Could I turn the lights out for 24 hours and then start up a completely opposite light on schedule without freaking my plants out? They have been flowering for just over four weeks.
Thanks

Short answer, yes.

You could also leave them on for 24 hrs then start your 12 hr dark period.

Either way, a 1 time change isn't going to freak them out too much. Do whichever you are most comfortable with.

Thanks for the response. I was worried such a drastic and permanent schedule change halfway through their flower cycle would put my ladies in a bad mood.

if you want to make it easy on the plants, simply bump your light schedule by 2 hours everyy day for 6 days ;)

Wetdog's right, one day off isn't going to make them spaz.

But if you want to stress them the least amount possible, just leave the lights on for 24 hrs and then go back to your 12/12 schedule now at night. Cannabis plants only measure the amount of darkness, so while any hiccups in the photoperiod schedule will still stress the plants, a fluctuating dark period is MUCH worse than fluctuation during the daylight hours.

Exactly right. ^^^^^^^

Don't mess with the dark cycle, do the 24 on then go to the new 12 off.

IAmStoned ....

Are you cereal? That is just plain bad advice and a really fast way to hermie plants. How can you figure that 6 days of light stress will be 'easier on the plants'?
