Change in ppm during feeding?

Hey guys,
What are my plants trying to tell me when I feed them 475 ppm, then after a week drinking that water, it goes down to 280 ppm? Does this mean they want more nutrients? So up the ppm the next time I feed? This is in a DWC system. Thanks.

You should check daily, if PPM's go down you add nutes. if it goes up you add water. Really you should adjust at least every other day. :peace:

The way I do it if the ppm rise I add water and try to drop ppm by 25. I keep doing this at every check, twice to 3x daily. Once I see the ppms start to slightly drop or stay the same then she's dialed in and you will notice positive growth. If the ppm drop rapidly then you are under feeding.

I call bullshit. There is no need to check and or adjust multi times a day or even every day. You have a decent question, yes, when ppm drops like that it means they were hungry. Next res go to around 550 to start and track it from there. The plants like to have some swings in ph and ppm, the secret is to find the sweet spot. This is where as level goes down ppm stays consistant. I go on average 4-5 days between checking any of my systems.

some people like to be more meticulous with their plants and I have found that those that pay attention to the smaller details can grow better product in the long run.
I check mine every time the lights come on in the morning....every morning.

you call bs???? What are you trying to say that I am lying about how many times a day I go into my grow OWN grow room? There is NO ONE way to grow. Any experienced grower knows this. So ya no bs, I give sound advice. In hydro IMHO, you should check your ppm and ph at least once day but i hit it twice a day. If you go longer Your ph would drift out of the 5.5/6.1 range. Why would any responsible grower who is trying to make QUALITY MEDS wouldn't want to keep their plants within optimum range is beyond me.

I never said you were lying what i said is that having to check a res every day or more than one time a day is not needed if you have control of your grow. If your ph floats out of range in a single day you should look into fixing your problem thats causing it. I just got back from being out of town for 4 days and 1 res needed a slight adjustment from 5.7 up to 6.0. Dont let the grow make you work too hard.

Done several DWC grows and seen several done by friends and I have never not once seen a DWC grow in a 5 gallon bucket that you don't hav to check it at least once a day. Maybe in 50 gallon res you can go longer but no way in hell you can do that with a 5 gallon single plant res. There is nothing wrong with my grow in fact they're quite beautiful

You are waaaaaay toooooooo sensitive dude. If you have never seen a 5gal dwc that can go more than one day without being checked then you have never seen it done right. I dont know what several means to you but i have had well over 100 harvests, not individual plants, harvests, and if i had to check every res every day i would search far and wide to find a different way. Make the grow work for you, not the grow working you. K.I.S.S.
