Chances of being busted?

Hi!

I'm growing some plants at home in my wardrobe and i'm getting paranoid! I keep thinking that the cops will knock on my door one day and find my crops! I know i'm just being paranoid but what will lead the cops to my house ?
Any re-assurance is welcome!

um dude dont tell a lot of stupid people i guess and the only thing that MIGHT
lead them to your house is the smell, just dont let your neigbors smell it, if they smoke, Bribe em lol jus dont get so paranoid

I would very much like to hear a little more on this subject. Has anyone here been busted and if so how and what was the fall out?

For me, I have not been. I grow in an apartment and keep the smell under control.

I spoke with a local cop a while back (in a very neutral setting). In my area he said the labs are so back up it is unlikely a case would make it to court for anything other than a major bust.

You should always expect the worse. The police are not there to try and let you off easy, know your rights and the worst consequences.

I agree completely, but the thread is about the chances of getting busted. On this I have not seen any real information.

I'd say this site would be a place for authority to come and monitor... But I might still be being paranoid... Hell.. you can look this site up on yahoo or google for christs sake...

I'd say my chances of being busted are a minimum... Although I just got out of court, for knowing my rights and getting out of possession charges.. I Don't think i'm gonna be messed with to bad... There wont be any authority coming into my house... And I'm growing in a basement, inside a box, with not heavy lighting or heat... But I think i'll be in the clear...

I am confident there are cops with extra time on their hands who wonder into this site. I sent a few personal messages to people posting stupid stuff which puts them at risk.

In your possession case, how did you get busted? Now that they know you have had pot in the past, do you think you are a target?

the more south east u go (the bible belt) pretty strict places. i would say in general the west coast is less sketchy than east coast.

if you grow you got to accept the fact you might get caught.the number 1 rule ...NEVER TELL ANYONE .....if only you know about it the odds of getting caught are much lower ......tell 1 person and its guarenteed they will tell someone and the chain carrys on till everyone knows ,and then your highly likely to get busted.even your girlfriend can get you busted ,im from the uk n a m8 of mine split up with his gf and she grassed him in ,he got caught with 8 plants in full flower but managed to get away with it being a personal grow ..he recieved a caution and a fine .

Buddy being paranoid is one of the worst thing you can do as a grower. I've had a friend who cops came to his place because of a domestic dispute, cops spent about 15 min in the house which had a grow room with about 20 flowering plants at that time and until now he's still growing strong...... lol .....it takes balls to keep a kool in that situation though. I think once as you put up safe grauds you'll be good ... odor control most important,dont steal power and keep you shit to yourself. I might be wrong on this but i dont think the power company has the right to disclose power consumption to anyone but you ... .. so the cops would have to have a warrant to see consumption rates. I think even if you consumption rate is above the normal for a give area i dont think cops will come knocking on your door. And even if they do they will still need a warrant if you dont want to let them in....which take about 24 hr to get. By then you hide or destroy all your plants replace with vegitables or ligit plants and you are good to go. ... i'm just a newbie but thats just my 2 cents. correct me if i'm wrong.

If you break the law a lot...you'll get nailed eventually.

Don't thump on the girlfriend. Hell, don't date psycho chicks who will fuck you over when you dump them. If guests or family stop by regularly then you need to make a hidden room.

And hardest of all....SHUT THE FUCK UP. Do not brag to anyone about how fucking cool it is to be growing your own.
