After a viewer sent Texas cowboy and media personality Chad Prather an insulting message about his Southern accent, Prather took to his popular YouTube channel to respond.

The video, titled "Unapologetically Southern," quickly went viral. (he's a star!)

On "Fox and Friends Weekend," Prather said that the South and Southern heritage are often ostracized and mocked.

"It's pretty easy to stereotype folks from the South," Prather said. "They hear a dialect and they hear a slang and they want to make fun of it."

He explained that he used his YouTube channel to respond and state what the South is really all about, including self-respect, discipline and respect for other people.

"With the world being as small as it is, I think it's necessary that we learn to embrace other cultures," Prather said. "You see the differences and you don't hate them, you don't stereotype them. You just learn to appreciate them." http://insider.foxnews.com/2015/10/04/texas-cowboy-chad-prather-becomes-youtube-star-after-rant-about-being-unapologetically

Yeah, my lily white ass that's what the south is about

The south is about hating anything and everyone who doesn't think like you or act like you or believe in the same stupid flavor of Christianity you do

Why do you talk about most of the black population that way? Are you racist?

They are southerners too, you know. Or do they not count because they are not white? So you are racist?

Dumbest shit I have ever seen..... On this board I have seen some really dumb shit, but my goodness, it doesn't get any more stupid than what you just said. You get a POLITICS BOARD TROPHY!

Love how you libs are supposed to be all about acceptance and love and peace, but every chance you get you show what stereotypical, bigot haters you really are.

Southern accents sound funny to me. Not in a bad way, they just do. I sometimes half expect to hear some sort of joke, or something. But is this really news worthy? I don't think so. There is a stereotype associated with it and for a reason -- just like how all the conservatives always go: WELL THERE'S A GOOD REASON FOR STEREOTYPES. Suddenly it becomes an issue when a cross section of white people are stereotyped? The horror!

We associate accents with certain things because of media tropes, it's that simple. When I hear that southern aristocrat accent, I think mansions, Colonel Sanders, mint juleps, etc..

You Conservatives really need thicker skin.

"12.1 percent of the total population according to the 2000 census"

I was talking about the culture of the south which would encompass blacks, whites, and hey, wouldn't cha know it, generally speaking, anyone who lives in a southern state. I know, it can be confusing sometimes..

I wonder why...

It should be called "the poverty, teen pregnancy, divorce, obesity, masturbation belt"

Tolerance doesn't require tolerating intolerance.

To dumbass religious people, liberals are the intolerant ones when they oppose Christian's right to deny equal rights to others based on their "deeply held religious convictions". Do you know how stupid that argument will look to future generations of Americans?

You silly bitches need to realize, this is the US, nobody gives a damn how convinced you are that your imaginary friend is real. You wanna play adult Peter Pan, by all means, do it in your own house. Keep your batshit crazy beliefs to yourself and stop insisting on infecting others to make you feel more comfortable about your own mortality, you big bunch of gaping pussies.
