I am in sum heat n have very little space n money but I think it's all coming together. I a seed germinating as we speak n am running outta time with no real light grow but my 100 watt halogen n that's not even gonna be an option. How much watts is good enough for a single plant minimum so I know what to work with. I am familiar with mh hps but it's not an option at the moment money n heat wise. Last question will I be able to flower well with same cfls I used for veg.? Sry I'm just new to cfls

well if your really short on money i would suggest getting some 23-26w cfl in the 2700k range, the best for vegetative growth would be 6500k bulbs but it can be done with 2700k and since the best for flowering is 2700k you wont have to swap them out thus saving you money :)

it all depends on how big you plan on having the plant, if your going to keep a small plant just for some personal use then try to get a pack of 4 26w cfls wont cost to much, you will also need to wire it all up.
for that you will either need to find some people throwing out old lamps, you can take them and use it or break the lamp and remove the wire with socket and use to to be able to move it around easily, also go to home depot of what ever is around you buy "Y socket" splitters to turn your one socket into 2 sockets so you wont need as many lamp cords.
(of course it is always recommended to go and buy the light cords but if short on cash the lamp thing works too)

so you just need
pot (free or 1$)
Lights (maybe 20-30$)
soil (best to buy new soil does not need to be the best ever and try to get some perlite in there so lets so 15$)
and you can use regular tap water just let it sit open for at least 24Hrs to let to chlorine escape
for nutes just use good ole grandmas molasses 1tbsp per gallon of water.

uhh cant really think of anything else but feel free to ask questions and get some pics up when you get it all together :)
good luck :peace::blsmoke:

put your halogen light aside and go out and buy some 6500K CFL's .. if your only growing one plant then you dont need many CFL's for vegetation.. how big to you want your plant to be.. how much space do you have to work with??..post pics

nutes are nutrients that you can use to help your plant. Not at all necessary but can still be useful

Molasses is just something that can be used instead of the more expensive nutrients if your low on cash.

for a reflector you could just use pie trays, but really since you need to have the cfl's so close to the plant some people say that the reflector is not necessary, just keep the light night and close to the plant, about 2-3 inches if its just a seedling and then 1-2 inches after or even closer, all depends on what ventilation you have? if you have none then you have made a mistake :P try to get a PC fan or something and set it up to keep air circulating in the "BOX" and it will also help develop a stronger thicker stem.

ok so the box is cool, the fan is perfect, tin foil is a NO NO can cause heat spots and burn the plant. even just putting sheets of printer paper all over the inside will be better than the brown box walls. generally cardboard boxes are not so good due to the heat and fire BUT since you will only have probably less that 100 watts in there i would not be to worried.

NUTES as in nutrients.

Molasses, some unsulphered molasses is good, i use grandmas too, abt a tbs/gal along with what ever nutrients u use.

buy a 4 pack of 6500k lights, between 23-26watts, i suggest that once in flowering, you go ahead & drop another 10-15 dollars for 2700k lights..its not too much money for a better yeild..

go to lowes if possible, or ace or whatever, but preferably lowes if u have one near

a clamp reflector that can withstand all the added watts, a small socket extender with the wall sockets on the side, you should know what im talking about..somebody should..hopefully..& 3 Y spliters, the extender is just to well...extend the socket becauase the lights wont fit, put the extender in the reflector, then put the y splitter in, then add the 2 y splitters to that 1 y splitter, BOOM 4 sockets in 1 reflector, add the light bulbs, & there you go

Reflector $13
Lights - $15
Splitters & extenders - $3-$4

ohh & line that box with some cheap blk & white poly man..or one of those things u use in cars to keep the sun out, those work str8

get some ok nutes & molasses, easy small & cheap

you may want to take out the light in your fan but you really dont have to even think about it till flowering.
