[CFL/SOIL/12/12 ]BBbubblegum's First Grow [CFL/SOIL/12/12]

So after nearly a month of having germination issues, i finally managed to get 3 of the 5 bagseeds i found to germinate. Space is an issue so i will be doing 12/12. I'll post all updates to the OP for anyone who finds this thread late. They are supposedly White Rhino
4x 60w CFLs
MG soil

Day 1 3/26/12
Plants
A 1/4th inch root
B 1/6th inch root
C 1/8th inch root

Will plant tomorrow in solo cups. Hopefully will be 1/2 inch tomorrow. Post Away!

Day 2 3/27/12
Plants
A 1/2 inch root
B 1/2 inch root
C 1/4 inch root
D 1/8 inch root
A&B were both planted to day. They are at 78F with two CFLs on 12/12 (I know they don't need it but i am getting my timing right)
C and D will hopfully go in tomorrow.

Day 3 3/28/12
Plants
A 1/4th inch
B 1/8th inch
C 1 inch root
D 1 inch root
E 1/4 inch root
Got a surprise when the 5th seed cracked open. C&D got planted, while A&B that were planted yesterday are just starting to come up. Got the 3rd CFL up and going. Light is 4 inches above soil level.
Day 4 3/29/12

A 1/4th inch
B 1 inch
C 1/8 inch
D 1/8 inch
E 1/8 inch
A had no growth today. B is taking off. C has no growth today. D came up today. E came up in less than 8 hours.

Reserved for future use.

C popped up. While planting C I by accidently took the seed off it. A and B still have theirs on. Should i take it off?

Planted E. still waiting for D to pop up. A and B haven't lost their seed yet

E came up in less than 8 hours. Probably cause i planted it shallow. A isn't really growing nor is C. D just popped up aswell. The fastest so far is B.

First kinda? do we get pictures soon of the setup?

Good ti hear you finally got some going. Poke some holes at the bottom of the cups for drainage just in case. Becareful not to fry then with too much light at first it happened to me they got hard and dry, may of been me just messing them up. Good luck.

They still haven't lost their seed casing..

They Shed it by dragging it as they pull up from the soil, if they didnt shed it already very delicatly you can help it, but it can be kinda "glued" to it so be careful so you dont rip or distort the girl...

I tried gently removing it but I don't think they are ready. I'll try tomorrow

I think i will pour some water on the seeds tomorrow, maybe the seed shells will come off. I think my first set of leaves are trying to push it off. More pictures tomorrow.

All of them are about an inch, except C who is lagging behind.

My lights have been a problem since day 1. They kept sagging out of the outlet. They sagged onto B and burnt it a little (Not horrible, luckly i caught it in time). I re-did the lights, did my watering, and placed sandwhich bags over the solo cups to try to get these plants to get there first set of leaves.

I had this in the soil for 2 days and I saw NOTHING. So I dug around and found that it was curled up and had sprouted.. I took the seed off (or it fell off) and i planted it myself.
You saw my first post you know how it's doing now.

Don't make them too wet!!!!!! BIGGEST MISTAKE OF FIRST TIMERS!!!!!!! Your soil looks pretty wet right now. Don't water again!!!!! Not yet. Just help the seed casings off. You can SPRITZ with a spray bottle to keep them soft OR you can just take them off. Tweezers and clean fingers!!!! Even if it seems like they don't really want to come off yet. Force it.......Gently.
